this whole trailor is amazing the stuff they do in it, I would love to try a couple of the things in it.. The first is how do they have the the person in front of the actual video (looks like they have the guy cut out of one video and layered on top of the video)... my next question is how do they do the camera shot, where it looks like they are looking through the lens, then takes the picture.. Thanks guys.. just go to this site and click on the trailor. http://www.wakefilms.com/ I use premiere pro if that helps

OMFG...........WOW.

THAT was a top notch trailer.

As far as having the person in front of the video. I don't know how to do it in Premiere but in Liquid Edition you can make a certain color or colors transparent so the other layer of video shows through it.

Your now starting to deal with graphics. After Effects is probably what they used. Its not really easy or cheap.

I don't think those guys just started editing last week!

But you should be able to do all of that in Premiere. The mattes didn't look like they were done in anything real high end (and didn't need to be based on the effect they were trying to get). I was impressed with the audio too it sounded clean and well done. It is impressive when you see those kinds of FX done by someone with talent!

It's done with clay "rotoscoping" animation.

As silly as this sounds, the true answer lies within my statement above.

shutup... close, but my statement here has more value added.

However.. I still hold strong on the clay-mation for the 360 rotational view. There is just "no" way you could do that unless you had at least a 1+ million Venezuelan Bolivar budget.

I was just referring to the part where you said "within my statement above." I see no statement above. Plus there is no possible way to add MORE value to any of your statements. They're already packed full.

I don't think it is claymation. I think it is a 3-d modeling program like maya

great trailer...other than the Nickleback song.

But ya, there are some rotoscoped or matte/rgb keyed shots. I wouldn't think that maya was used. The compositing could be done with any NLE and AE. The shot with the board wiping the screen into graphic can be achieved easily as well. The only use of Maya I see would be for that spinning graphic. The last trick shot is green screened then the actual boarding shot is cleverly resized during the dissolve to help hide it. i would like to see these trick shots on dvd to see how well they actually turned out.

I'd like to get my hands on that software - whatever it was.
