So when the ignition is turned on and the PP does its auto tighten routine, is it supposed to ratchet when it has tightened the line?

Maybe ours always has, and I just noticed it today...? Works fine, just curious if it overtightening and will wear something out in doing what it is doing.

If your turn your ignition off before you stop the boat it will always do that routine. Bring it back to an idle for a few seconds before you turn it off and it won't need to do that.

Yeah that's normal. I just read about it in a pp trouble shooting guide when I was working on mine last week.
