How many people compete in Amateur Events? If you do, why do you compete and what is it that you enjoy at the competitions.....

Really like: Hanging with all the cool people, seeing all my friends. Trying to do my best in 2 passes is pretty fun too.

Really could do without: Any drama. People who take the competition too seriously.

Sorry I wasn't able to make it out to any of your events this year.

I lilke to spend long hours on the mic talking with PorkChops Inc. and then realize that not one person is listening to us.
That is life.

I can't wait for 06.

I love competing. Standing on the dock waiting for the hook up is surreal. Competing motivates me to learn new stuff and shows me how much better other riders are. Performing under pressure has its own unique reward.

I compete for a few reasons

1) to show that women ARE involved in the sport.
2) to push myself to learn more tricks and to ride better
3) to have fun
4) to tap my competitive spirit -- one day I WILL beat the 12 year old girl who consistently wins locally and kicks my butt .

Contests are great... you meet so many new people who love the same sport you do... I like to get involved in my tour too, judge, announce etc.

you meet alot of chicks too... and new opportunities open up to you by getting noticed at contests...

plus it helps if you do good too
