SPAM

Just checking to see if anybody else received any SPAM messages to their email listed in their profile from someone on this site. I received a message from the kid from legittowers.com. This is the same kid who posted a thread telling people to check out legittowers.com posing as a customer. He got a bunch of Shiat for trying to get free advertising. This is pretty lame if he is pulling emails from wakeworlders to spam them.

I just got the same thing not 10 minutes ago.

What a dueshbag. I hope his business goes tats up

How about this novel Idea. Why not come out with somthing or sell thing's that every other company dosent all ready make or sell's.

I got one as well. I can say one thing. He is not afraid to back down from a little (LOL) criticism.

He does deserve to go under - anyone who thinks they can flat out lie to a customer (with, apparently, no repercussion), and then turn it around as a pity party when challenged should not be in the business world.

You may have good products, but honesty and transparency are HUGE in business. If your word is not credible, how can people trust your product, you know?

got it too.... he added us to his mailing system but he's harvesting emails. totally illegal and each offense could be hit up on the CAN-SPAM act of 2002 (i think it was '02) my old company got hit up with a 500k lawsuit and settled out of court for 25k. Needless to say, we were much more careful about sending any email after that!

Guys on wakeworld do not enjoy you grabbing their email addresses from the site and spamming us with this crap. You should know it is against the law. Try paying for advertising on the site and you may have more luck.

I just called him and told him what he was doing was illegal as well as making a lot of people angry. He said it was someone else from his business. He explained that he informed the person respnsible that this was unexceptable and told me that he would like appolagize. I guess he has gotten a few calls.

I mentioned the fact to him that his stuff is just diywake stuff but higher prices and he now lowered the prices on his stuff.

I should say on some of his stuff. I don't think this person knows what they are doing the V-2 speaker can kit is cheaper than the cans by themselves right now. LoL

Just an FYI... you can hide your email address in your profile, which would make it impossible for someone like this to harvest it. Even if your email is hidden, people can contact you via email by sending you a private message. They don't see your email address, but it gets forwarded to your from our system.

Yeah, I said to him I garuntee you that you will be making no sales, and your company will spiral downwards while you start shooting heroin and smoking meth because you are an emotional wreck, all because you decided to not pay for advertising... haha

I wasn't that mean twitch, but I am sure he is regreting his business plan. Hopefully after this and the thread he started he has learned a lesson. The simple fact is that wakeworld makes up such a small portion of the wakeboarding population that pissing us off probably has little effect on his business.

i didnt get the email but whats the big deal.... at least it wasnt some spam selling viagra . at least it was watersports related...

Spam? Maybe just because it is unsolicitied, but hey, he did provide a valid opt-out link, so at least he's doing it right. He even sprung for Constant Contact, which means he now has a report of email open rates and website traffic that he generated as a result of that email. Not bad.

I'm sure you guys receive a lot worse content, daily, with no chance to opt out.

His approach is a little sloppy, website sucks, but I give the guy credit for trying.

I understand where this guy is coming from, but the least he couldve done, is post a thread saying hey guys, here my company and the accessories we offer, take a look at let me know what you think and if you are interested, rather then trying to trick us to thinking he was a customer. And people could've simply told him to contact Dave for as ad? isnt that mroe reasonable?

I feel hurt. I haven't gotten his SPAM yet. But don't feel that I need to even know what it says for some reason.
He surely seems to have a legit quality business that you want to trust.

Maybe he sees that I'm 39 with only a very old school Malibu, and probably figures that I'm a single income family with kids (which is true) and too poor to buy one of his towers or accessories (which is also true).

i don't mind the liquid circus one too much... just as long as it doesn't get out of hand... as for the first spam mentioned... i think i never got it or it went into my spam box. I'm glad i got the wake related one though ;)
