Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that some Pro riders and Jr Men have gotten much bigger over the winter break.

Rusty is only "big" b/c he's competing against guys who are so small. He's not a small guy, but guys who are 6'2" 210 are not big, lol.

U give me a guy who has never seriously lifted in his life, in his early 20's, I'll throw 20lbs on him in 3-4 months , easily...no juice.

6'2" 210 is a well above average human being. hutton and lee are jacked no doubt but when you ride 2-3 times a day, weight train, and keep to a semi-solid diet then you're gonna stay chiseled.

B-Hutt hasn't gotten any bigger then he was a year ago. The kid has a great head on his shoulders, he trains everyday, eats like an Olympic athlete, and doesn't drink....... (I don't think I have ever seen him drink.) Brian is a great role model for kids, I would bet a ton of $$$ saying that it's just training and a good diet.

Rusty isn't 6'2" either. I'd actually be surprised if he even measured out over 6'0".

Im totally agreeing with JR most of the good riders i know are good sized and cut because wakeboarding by far is a very physical sport. i dont think roids would even be a problem in wake boarding Rustys riding is strait up technical and he shreds but look at Soven he is half of rustys size and he can make the tricks look fluid, flawless and effortless judges should score style with like 50 percent of the score. i have some friends that are in the gym 24/7 that ride with me and a kid thats 5'6 130 pounds looks and rides twice as good. im just trying to say getting jacked isnt gonna make your riding better than you think... people who are not excally lanky but that arent enormous ride so much better

Steroid use may be counterproductive in wakeboarding.
Anabolic Steroids are notoriously hard on weight bearing joints.
Hips and knees are probably better off without steroid use.

come on guys, the steroid thing was a joke...

The only steroid I use is a wakeboard.

We all know that getting "jacked" will help you ride better. I am in the same boat as some of these guys I am 12 lbs bigger then last season and already can tell a huge difference. I weighed 138 last season and 150 still holding down the 5% body fat too. I can hold way more line tension and the handle rarely gets popped now. All translating into better/bigger riding.

I think it is due to better training. I know that Tony is in much better shape now then he was when he was here in California. In Orlando they ride 3 or 4 times a day almost everyday. Tony also weight trains off the water. Here in Cali he would work out and hope to ride one set a day. Plus as the competition gets better the riders must get better as well. Takes a little more to win it every year.
