Anyone know what the average cost would be for reconditioning a prop?

Depends on the place and I imagine the type of prop. I'm assuming you have an inboard boat prop.

I've had some minor dings/bends repaired in the past for around $70. I sent in a 537 to ACME and was told that repairs start at ~$100 and go up from there depending on severity. I thought $100 was pretty steep for very minor damage, but I guess it was reasonable.

Recently, I had some pretty significant damage to a prop and decided to just find one on e-bay or something because it would probably be upwards of $175 - $200 to fix it and figured I might as well get a new one. I ended up finding a brand new one here on Wakeworld for $275 shipped. I'd rather spend the extra $75 - $100 and just have a brand new one again.

Most shops here in Phoenix AZ charge around $115 for fixing a four blade ACME prop including the sandblasting finish and all. since this prop costs $450 new it seems reasonable to me.

I got a recommendation from this board earlier on this subject. There is a place in Costa Mesa Ca. called AAA Propellor. The owners name is Tom, I took mine there and it was $125 vs what the dealer was going to charge of $275.

his phone# (949) 642-6252

This guy is good, He has been fixing props since he was 8 years old!. I dropped mine off with him and then he shipped it to my dealer to put on my boat. I would imagine you could just ship your prop to him for repair and return, assuming you do not live near.

I pay ususally $125-200 depending upon the damage. The place I use is very picky.

Holland Propleller in Holland, Michigan.
