last night, I was installing my tower speakers, got them up on the tower, got hole drilled thru the boat, got the harness in...go to drill in the tower for the speaker wire...drill about 3/4" and realize the tower is NOT hollow...it is a Boss Pro series, can this be right?

Doesn't sound right. Almost all towers use solid aluminum inserts in the tubing around hinges and for mounting points, my guess is you went into one of those. Pics?

You probally are trying to drill to close to a joint or foot.. Every tower ive seen and worked on has sleeves as noted above, try going further up the tube and you will probablly have to go in and out of the tower at a few of these joints... You may want to take it to someone with some experience, or post some pics so we can help you out!

the tower breaks down into three pieces and I drilled about two inches from one of the pins that hold it together.....I think I am going to run the wire on the outside of the tube, using zip ties and the plastic crap that covers wires until I can get someone to run the wire professionaly...another question, if it has aluminum inserts then how are you going to run the wire thru them...thanks for the input

more holes at the joints. the wiring will go out of the tubing and back in to get around past the joint.

thanks Nacho, guess I need to get someone that really knows what they are doing unlike the weekend warrior I am...nacho, running the wire outside of the tower using zip ties should not be a problem, correct? I am off to tahoe for a week and I need my tunes....
