Mike- I would have to say that Long Lake is a good spot. I live on the northside of Spokane so its only a 30-45 min drive depending on where you launch. I usually ride on Long from mid April through the end of May, then we take our boat to our cabin on the PendOreille, and then back on Long lake for the month of September. It seems like you can always find a nice spot to ride on long. Shoot me an email if you are ever looking for a 3rd. (Message edited by mhsb1029 on February 14, 2005)

Not sure about boarding in the area but I know I caught some damn big Trout up at Lake 4th of July up in Cheney and a lot of small trout in the little Spokane river back in the day. And I drank a lot of beer at the Bigfoot Tavern and ate some damn good Calzone at Pete's Pizza!

Liberty- a little small and round, so if you get more then a few boats going at the same time it's no good. Newmann- I started riding at Newmann in 1991 and rode there at least 4 times a week for the next 12 years. It's pretty good sized and it has about 3 different sections that you can ride in so it doesn't get chewed up to bad with multiple boats. The bad thing about Newmann is the water is really nasty!! I know several people including myself that get major sinus problems after riding there. I still ride it a couple of times a year or if I am going to hit sliders, thats where ours are. Never been to Loon. The thing about all the lakes close to Spokane is that during the peak times of the season they are all really to busy to get in any good riding time, unless you get up early or ride late. I spend some of my weekends up on the PendOreille river up by Ione. It's insane. I went up on the 4'th last year and we didn't even hit the water until 11 and it was butter all day!!! We are always looking for riders to come up and ride there, so hit me up this spring of you want a pull. Later, jjakober

This winter has pretty much sucked!! I partied with Rick the night before he headed up to Canada, we had a good time. I don't know how he got up in the morning and was able to make it, I know I wasn't up to it the next day!! You still riding for O'Brien? I got the Valhalla yesterday and can't wait for it to warm up so we can start riding again. Do you know Ricks friend EJ? Sounds like he is going to be getting a new Malibu. Should be sweet. Good to hear from you and take it easy. Later, Jason

Mike- One of the best spots around Eastern Wash. in my opinion is Banks Lake and Rosevelt, at Grand Coulee Dam. about 2.5-3 hours from Spokane. We camp there quite often and the water is great. in some spots it has reached near 80(yes, the WATER TEMP). It is also usually smooth to. My sister lives in Elk and they come over to. I live in Wenatchee and I am about the same distance away. We always camp at Osborne Bay campground(Washington State Parks Owned/Operated). There is like 20 so camp spots with a cost of $10.00 a night and extra cars is like $5.00. You should come over here and go out on Lake Entiat(Columbia River). It is very nice and usually very calm. It's been in Wakeboarding Mag. and BFY Productions filmed some of the footage for "The Butter Effect" here. Or another out by Moses Lake is Mardon/Potholes Resevore(spl?). This is a major hang out in summertime!

I second Lake Roosevelt. I'd recommend going to Fort Spokane which is only an hour or so away. This is where the Spokane River meets the Columbia. Great riding up the Spokane, or down river at Hawks Creek. Fort Spokane has a really nice state park with a Casino, Restaurant, and Gas Station right across the river. Banks Lake and Coulee Dam are awesome too but are a further drive. If you take a weekend trip go to Lake Entiat just north of Wenatchee its my favorite stretch of water in the state. All in all there is some amazing riding in the summer in Eastern Washington.

Jason, E.J. is probably the only guy goofier than Rick that I have ever met. He is absolutely hilarious. Last time we partied with him, he dropped his phone in the water, and his excuse why it wouldn't work was that it just wasn't sober yet. Their new malibu shoudl be pretty sick, I have a feeling rick will be calling in a lot more sick days... As for O'brien, yeah, I am still riding for them. Ludlow (the team manager) is the man, and that article just came out in the newest Alliance about our house up in montana, so me, ty, and rick all got published, which is pretty cool. Hopefully we will set up another article for the northwest this summer, cause more stuff of those rivers and lakes needs to be published. I am still riding the player, but I will have to come over and try that valhalla out, cause it definately looks like a cool board. I have your number, so lets keep in touch, and will definately have to hook up this summer. We will be over quite a bit to ride with rick, so I will make sure and give you a call. later man, and if you talk to O'brien, put in a good word for me! later ian
