Helped my friend put a new CD head unit in his boat. Turned it on and noticed that the unit get pretty hot, like too hot to touch. Granted, the thing has a heat sink on one side, and that is the area getting hot, probably the heat from the built in amp.

Anyone have any experiences with this or know if this is normal?? Thanks in advance.

i think most head units with built in amps get pretty warm, if your that worried add a small fan to the back of the head unit OR dont run any speakers off the head unit, run them all off seperate amps
