We are doing two (very casual) warm water wakeboard camps, in Kingsland Texas, just north of Austin for $650 each. There are options to extend a stay but we wanted to keep them small and we are doing these pretty inexpensively because its early season. April 25-27, and May 2-4.

Our instructors, a few close friends, and 5 students will go to each session. We'll have our new camp boats (and our last year's boat) at the lake house. I was there at the very end of October and the water was still 77 degrees. I expect 70+ in the spring.

I sold one of our camp boats to the owner (a professional football player) so we worked out a killer deal for 4 weeks a year.

We'll have the trampoline on site as well.

WEST COAST CAMPS. its the most chill week i've ever had. Mikes got 2 houseboats up there(ones around 52 feet or so and the other is around 45 i believe). 4 or 5 wake boats with i think they 8 instructors. ride 3 times a day and just chill on the house boat during your breaks from the sets. if i didn't have my truck, dirtbike, insurance, ect payments that come with growing up i would be there this summer at least once maybe even twice. ooo and its in Lake McClure, Ca(i'm sure i spelled that wrong) and goes for 1300 a week i believe unless he raised the prices.

I took a couple lessons there and that place was great Cobe and Jon are extremely relaxed and know alot about what there doing. I did not do the camp there so i dont know much about that but it was a great place to take some lessons. I also took some lessons at OWC which is also a great place but I thought wakeboardorlando was just more relaxed but you were still learning as much.

So of any of you guys that have attended a camp. Did you come back and actually learn anything different? Add any more tricks to your list? Or did they just polish you up on what you all ready knew?

newwhit, Briscoe's Summer Sessions begins May 3 in Tennessee and he will travel throughout the midwest and east coast till September. Prior to that he offers week long camps in Winter Haven FL just 30 min from Disney. I'm sure you could find more info on www.thewakeboardcoach.com

You know, as a wakeboard school owner and instructor, I would have to say this: If you are going to a camp or school and working on anything below a 7 or easier handle-pass invert, you can go virtually anywhere where the instructors can do and articulate those tricks. In other words, stay close to your home, and save money. With 1000's of guys that can do certain tricks, you'll get focused attention, most anywhere if they know what they are doing and how to break down the elements of each trick you are trying.

Now if I were going to go to a camp to say...work on 7's and beyond or more complicated tricks or just really wanted the best there is; there are only a few I would consider (in no particular order): 1) Kyle Schmidt (the Wakeboard Camp) 2)Travis Moye and Shaun Murray (the Boarding School) 3) Mike Ferraro (OWC??).

Other schools are great too but these guys coach the VERY BEST on a daily basis. There is noone in the business (not including me of course..ha ha) that is better at what they do.

Great atmosphere. Strong coaching. Laid back and flexible. Fair prices. Very good value in my opinion.

I will also say that Otown sounds up your alley as well. Check them both out.

I was seriously considering West Coast Camps, but airfare from Michigan is a little too complicated for the dates I was looking at. The Boarding School is next on my list for sure!

Brent at SoCal Wakeboard Instruction is a GREAT coach. I have been riding with him 2-3 times a week for 3-4 years now and he has taught me so much. He is patient, fun and loves to teach and meet new peeps who love to ride. I would highly recommend him to everyone. And the riding conditions are superb. Looking forward to starting up my training in a couple of weeks.....can't wait
