ARN`T TANDEM AXEL TRAILERS STANDARD

I have been checking out pic`s of boats and have noticed a lot of boats on single axel trailers. I live in CA and cant rember the last time I have seen a 20 ft boat or even a comp boat on a single axel trailer?

Boats less then 22 feet are ok to put on sigle axle trailers.

No, Tandem Axle trailers are not standard. Our malibu response (20.5 ft boat) came with a single axle. The trailer rusted out, and when we went to buy a new one the recomended the single axle even though we asked for a tandem. They said with the new torsion shocks and 6500lb axle, there was no need for a tandem axle trailer on a 2600lb boat.

I think it's mostly a California thing.

My bet is that the dealers are cutting some cost putting them on a single axle trailer making the deal look more attactive. I personally wouldn't put anything over a 19' boat on a single axle trailer.

in Ca. you tow a lot more and longer distances than other parts of the country, prob. why you see more tandems there. I personally would stick with a tandem
