Nice work... I really like the 2nd and 4th shots, very clear and revealing.

How'd you do it.. What'd you use?

Thanks, Blake.
For #2 and #4 I used a Celestron Onyx 80mm EDF APO piggy backing an Orion C-8 SCT mounted on an Atlas EQG. The other two shots were taken at 2032mm(Orion C-8), both using prime focus with a 40D and Registax software.

I see... That's way over my head, but I 'll take your word on it!

Very nice shots, Barry. I got to experiment with astronomical photography in an astronomy class I took a few years ago. It's really a cool process.

Sorry, Blake. I used a good quality refractor telescope with a short focal length and a real nice/accurate mount..Short focal length for a telescope, anyway. The key is having a good mount.A good mount coupled with a cheap scope will still produce pretty nice images. A million dollar scope on a cheap mount will net you trash.

Sly, It is a neat process, but it's really tough/time consuming. I'm not too good at it, but I'm working at getting better.
Those are my best work, by far... they're really only mediocre(at best!) compared to what some of the AP guys are doing. It's fun, though.

Barry,
No need to apologize... I was actually cracking a little joke on my lack of knowledge. I still like the shots... Nice work!

Thank you. I'll post more when I am fortunate enough to get good shots. There aren't too many good objects to shoot during winter. Spring/summer is when all the cool stuff is out.
