I've searched the archives and I know there's a lot of info. on here about different boards. I demoed a Slingshot Response the other day and loved the way it carved but it didn't have quite as much pop as I'd like. I'm interested in the Press and I found a good deal on a Hyperlite B-Side but I have no idea what they ride like. It also happens that my cash situation isn't what I'd like it to be and I can't find any good deals on Slingshots. My local shop charges $20 to demo. Is that about normal? At that rate I've got to narrow down how many boards I'm going to demo. Anyone have any suggestions for a good deal on a good board?

I rode a slingshot recoil on Saturday and it was sooo sweet. A lot of shops charge you for the demo but then let you put the cost towards what board you end up buying. At least that is my experience. So ask your shop if they do that or if they would be willing to do that for you.

Hop on the recoil.... that thing pops harder than any board I've been on, even the "poppy" ones Shane, Ibex, old parks, byerly, etc etc Slingshots take a set or three to learn how to use them correctly.... but when you do, oh baby.

Dave, $20 for the day, or weekend? At my shop, when you demo, they apply that money towards your purchase so it is really like try-to-buy. Try every board they've got!!!! Best way to find that PERFECT board. You'll know first time you ride it. For me it's an LF Watson.

only had mine about a month now, hadnt noticed the sig fading yet. Dont think theres much you could do about it, maybe spray some clear lacquer on top, that should maybe slow down the fading?

i would disagree with the company. i rode a recoil for 2 seasons & got sucked into the hype of the super limited. the super ltd doesnt pop as good & the landings arent as soft. i just went back to slingshot last week & bought the 09 response. just my opinion... u do have to take a couple of sets with any of the flex boards to get used to ride. u really need to take a progressive cut to get the benefit of flex.

i am trying to jump on board with the flex as well. i have had my mind set on a 142 Recoil since last season, but now it seems i can't decide. What is the Liquid Force press series slingshot compared to Slingshot? Lately though that Ennen Pro model has caught my eye, but i have heard nothing about it. has anyone tried this board out yet? i will be riding mainly behind a boat but will want to start hitting up the rails this season (Message edited by REiF on May 19, 2009)

Thanks for the info. I like the shop I'm demoing from and I'd like to support them but they're selling their boards for about $200 more than I can get them online. I like supporting local business but they've got to be at least a little competitive. Right now I ride a Liquid Force Stance 142. I liked how much better the Slingshot carved--it really seemed to hold an edge a lot better. It's sounding like the recoil might be nice--a little more pop.
