Well my old Proline LG is almost done.. the stitching is starting to tear and the Chamois has gotten loose around the handle. I really like the chamois handle, and have been shopping for a new one. The local shop is sold out and won't have anymore until next year. So, what is the difference in the LG and the LG1?? I have not really been able to find any info about that, or any other brands that have the chamois grip since it is comfortable and does not get slippery.

Byerly Chamois is nice! Hasn't gotten loose yet and we have had several riders using it all season.

How old is your LG Billy? They might replace it under warranty, but who knows. I've had to get several LG's replaced but I'm having trouble with the new warranty folks. You can at least ask them.

I love the LG handles...I just wish they lasted more than half a season.

My LG is about 3 years old now (riding about every weekend from May through Sept)... So I doubt that I can really in good faith get it covered by warranty... Anyone know what the fifference in the LG and the LG1 is or or the LG the original and then they named it the LG1 when they came out with the LGT (triangle handle I think)

CWB has some cool new variations of the LG handle coming for Dub-10.

I see that BBB has the Faction on sale today... What is it like?? I have not ever see one of those... I really will have to get a new one before Dub-10 unfortunately...

I'm wondering the same thing Billy.

I have an Era and I love it! really durable not sure what year but I have had it for a few years now. Any other handle I have had has not held up like this one. The handle is a bit more thick, but I think it's more comfortable that way. Most everyone who uses it also has the same opinion.

I see them all the time on line for like 35$ for this particular handle.

I bought an LG in 2007 and in 2008 at the beginning of the season. They simply don't float. That's usually not a problem except when pulling newbies or kids when they arent' really good about grabbing the line when you bring it by. I love my handle and want to order a new one. Does anyone know if the newer Prolines float?
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       08-06-2009, 9:57 AM Reply
Am I the only person that doesn't care about floating? I've never paid attention I guess. I'm not sure if mine floats or not. I spot the rope, and hold it until the handle comes around.

I have a couple of the new handles on the boat. I'll take pics and post them Sat night if I can.

New LG's do not float. They will for the first set then they sink like a rock.

Duffy - where have you been seeing that handle online for $35? I have one currently but would like to get a backup.

All the 2010 Proline handles are 25% lighter (and stronger) due the new 7076-T6 aluminum bars we are using for 2010. They are very bouyant and sealed. Therefore water will not fill the bar and cause it to sink. This problem can occur in all Chamois style grips that do NOT use floats - Proline, Accurate, LF, SL, etc. The Chamios grip is designed to absorb water, combine that with an unsealed bar that fills w/ water so it is no surprise Chamois style handles sink. Proline has solved this issue for 2010...

While testing the LGS over last fall we have found by stitching/glueing directly into the EVA has created a much more durable grip. My first batch of test handles are still out there and getting used daily.

doubleupkid thanks again for posting here for us!! I am curious why you do not use any anti-roll system? What is the thinking there? I love my new LGT, thanks a ton! Except that is sinks hehe...

how much are the new LGS going to be? Im in the new handle market right now and will wait if its reasonable. I'm really looking at the ronix north because its only 55 and has solid grip
Old     (thedoubleupkid)      Join Date: May 2008       08-07-2009, 9:54 AM Reply
Street price will be around $69 for any of the LGS handles. There are six colors Blk/Yel, Blk/Org, Blk/Grn, Wht/Red, Wht/Blu, Wht/Blk.

I'm working on a new fixed bushing design that will appear March 2010. Personally, innovation in the grip side of things seems to be more relevant, IMHO. I mean, if the grip isn't the best available what is the point of anti-roll? Proline has 8 new grips for 2010 - yep, I said 8.

If you want to preorder, Board Co. has part numbers to place orders w/ Proline.

this is like an advertisement thread for proline almost. just get any handle that has a spoungy grip and put hockey tape over it. that way the handle is tacky but soft

So my LG quit today and I got an RA number - any chance they'll let me get a LGS if I kick in some extra?
Old     (wakeslife)      Join Date: Jul 2005       08-14-2009, 1:33 PM Reply
doubleupkid - why not innovate in the grip area AND an anti-roll setup? I have wondered the same thing as wakemikey and wondered why none of the LG's had something like this.Love the ARi Straighline I used to have and how rigid of a pull it gave.
Old     (thedoubleupkid)      Join Date: May 2008       08-14-2009, 2:28 PM Reply
Darin, sorry man but I'm sure Mat will take care of you. Technically the LGS are available Sept 1st.

Honestly I didn't have time to perfect my AR idea so hopefully I will release something in March 2010. It is a new concept and function so I didn't want to rush it. IDK how many pros are using anti-roll anyway? I just flipped thru Aug Alliance and I only counted 5 pics w/ AR handles. 2 w/ Grubb w/ his carbon handle. Pros tell me they sometimes "get in the way" on super tech stuff and obviously when wrapped.

Anycase I'm working on it.

It's no biggie, it served a great life and I'm not going to switch to a different handle, so it's all good. I was just wondering if I could pitch in a few extra bucks for the upgrade, that's all

I don't see the LGS on the website. Could you post a link? My last handle is sitting at the bottom of Lake Billy Chinook as of last week. I'm in the market right now! :-)
