so i bought my wife a pair of LF minx's last year and they were in our basement over the winter and when we brought it up for the year the tongue on the bindings was faded to a tan color where it was originally gray. I know they havent received any kind of damage and i was wondering if this was normal and if it could be a warranty issue

It is not uncommon for that to happen. Take it back to where you got them or call the LF warranty department. that had some bad runs of material that either faded or blead. some even changed a weird color under floucent light.

While I realize people often purchase gear for the look/colour scheme, there really is nothing wrong with the boots, so why hassle your local shop/LF with getting them replaced? Seems to me like the best thing to do would be to forget about the fading and and focus on getting some more use out of a perfectly good set of bindings.

understandable maestro, but they are my wifes. so the look is important to her. her "pretty" pink bindings now have a big strip of brown on them.

I doubt LF or your shop will do anything. Every pair of white bindings they made last year that came into the shop I was working at had turned that funky brown color. It is just what happens when they hit the water and dry in the sun. One reason not to buy based on looks of the binding. Sorry, not trying to be mean or anything.
