i have Direct TV but I wanted to get a DVR/TIVO in another bedroom. I know there are some for sale on ebay and other sites, but how does that work once i buy it?

do i just call direct tv and ask them to activate it? Does somebody have to come out and do it for me or can I hook it up and just call them for activation?

Any input would be great. Thanks!
