hey i am just wondering if i can put one of these on the tige with the wakeplate and all being back there. i am pretty sure that the pictures on the website are of this exact setup but i would love to hear if anyone has any personal experience with the system. how much does it help?

The guy that builds them owns (or owned) a Tige'. Should answer your question.

that's cool thanks. does anyone have any opinions about it's effects on riding? does it do what is claimed?

Yes, you can put one on your Tige. I put one on my 06 22Ve this past Spring. Dr Mann does them for each boat based on your measurements.

We have found no adverse effects during boarding or surfing.

The greatest benefit, IMO, was the noise reduction, and 2nd would be the redirection of the CO {Carbon Monoxide}. Although you cant smell the deadly CO, I've noticed a lack of other gas Odors, produced during normal combustion, while surfing, which tells me it's doing it's job.

Not mine, but a couple of pics on one installed on a 24V

It is the best money I invested in my stereo as well. The music is more clear without the roar of the engine in the way when surfing or boarding. I think I lost 1-2 MPH on my top end, a trade I am very happy to make.

When I get a new boat, it will be one of the first things to go on it.

So it appears that if you have a fiberglass swim platform, you have to add a piece of cross bracing to attach the two support rods?
Old     (azpowerhouse)      Join Date: Jul 2007       11-27-2007, 9:33 PM Reply
Thats what I originally thought, but, I believe that is the taps(aka wakeplate) hydrolic I believe.
Not sure on how secure, and strong this setup is. First time seeing this idea.

You need to add the square cross brace to the swim platform braces. Then you attach the support rods to the cross bracing. It is actually very solid. No problems at all with the setup. We have done several group buys on tigeowners.com and so far everyone has been happy with the results

The crossbar is also used on teak platforms. The braces run from the corners where the two pipes bend to form the T up to the crossbar. This supports the unit from the force of water trying to lever it off the exhaust flanges.
I have one on my Sanger with plate and know it was the best change I did on the boat.

Everything you need comes in the box.......I think the even throw in a little 5200 for reinstalling the exhaust flange screws.

Hey Tate - Dr. Mann was having a sale (something like $50 off) during November... You may want to hit him up and see what you can get... I bought mine 2 weeks ago and I love it... I've had the boat out twice and it's unbelievable...

I have had the fresh air exhaust on my '02 xstar for about a season and a half. It is the shizz. It quiets the boat down-stereo doesn't have to be as loud. No more exhaust smell. The down side is that sometimes I forget the boat is running (so quiet) and turn the key to hear the grind of the starter engaging an engine that is already running!

The only issue I have had with it is it caused water to shoot up between the swim platform. I tried tilting it back as Larry Mann suggested but it continued. I remedied the problem with a piece of plexiglass attached to the top of the fresh air exhaust. No complaints now. We love it!

I just place my order - they are running special discount of $50 right now. Got mine for $337 plus shipping.

The guy that answered the phone called himself Dr. Mann. I assume he must be the owner.
