I'm interested in going to Mexico for a month or two this winter. I'm looking for a lake with a campground on or nearby where I could park my camp trailer then launch my boat and have some fun. Any info on such a place would be appreciated.

hey, go to darinshapiro.com and click on "the spot" it comes up with a place called acapulco getaways on a huge glassy lake next to the pacific ocean (with great surf) and cool mountains. they offer packages with cool activities and if youve seen the wake film "updog" thats where its filmed.

Do you need a passport to get into Mexico yet?

I don't think you need one until 1/1/08.

You DO NOT need one until mid 2008, bring a drivers license and you will be fine.

You might need it if you fly in, but I know you don't need it if you're driving.

I think Dave is correct. If you drive I believe you need a Birth Certificate to go with your drivers liscense.

Driving for sure is just a driver's license cuz I do it all the time.

You need one to travel by air. See the U.S. Department of State requirements on their website. And chill out Gramps.

This is only an assumption but I'm pretty sure he is DRIVING. He said this WINTER so again a passport isn't needed until middle of NEXT year.

Since I go into Mexico a few times a month my information is pretty accurate.

hate on

Does anyone know if there is any place to ride in Puerto Vallarta. With all this Mexico talk I just booked a trip there leaving Saturday.

Thanks Gramps. I don't think I worded my second post comments well. No bad will intended.

Peace

About 1 hour north of Puerto Vallarta is a small town called San Pancho (aka San Francisco) with a great little, all inclusive surf resort called the Costa Azul. If you stay at the Costa Azul, they can take you to some of the best surf in the area (Chacala, Santa Cruz, some places in Punta De Mita, etc). I don't know about wakeboarding there, but I know the surf is pretty epic.
