Congrats, details details, options, specs, what did options you get? It's darn cold here so we live vicariously by others boating experiences until spring comes.

I had a really good first year with my Centurion, welcome to the family!

That is cool. I would like to see some pictures.

What changes has centurion made this year?
The still dont have a new website up.
Old     (bigshow)      Join Date: Feb 2005       01-25-2006, 3:12 PM Reply
They've added the switch blade as an option, they've modified the engine compartment venting, meeting Merc requirements for a two year warranty and they've added a port side storage pocket in the walkthrough.

Looks like some minor shake up in the line up with Air Warrior badging vs. Storm Series badging but I don’t understand the difference.

Any other changes?
Old     (ef3529)      Join Date: Nov 2003       01-25-2006, 4:27 PM Reply
The Air warrior comes with the 315 MPI and you can only get it in the one gel coat scheme. They are trying to offer the same boats in the storm series for less money. There is about a $2500-$3000 difference in the boats. The storm series comes standard with the 330 MPI, stainless rubrail, bolster seat and storm graphics and gel coat. That is the short of it.

Centurion has really changed over the years. They are looking flashier and flashier every year. I just hate it because the prices will keep going up.

We actually got to take it out for a demo ride yesterday, we were freezing but damn it was worth it. Water temps were only 40degrees, needless to say i didnt get in the water. But the cruising was awesome. The sideswipe is kinda loud but i love the deep throaty sound, at cruising it was somewhat loud but nothing some tunes cant "tune" out.

That was my first time on a vdrive towboat, didnt know they were so much more fun to drive compared to a I/O. 6 more weeks till spring argh.......

That doesn't look the hydrofoil I've seen on Centurions....more like the wakeplate on serious steroids!

Know anything about that krbaugh?

If you look close you can see that what you are seeing is the asphalt between the plate(boat) and trailer.

DC, have you folded that tower down yet? Is it a 1 man operation? Will it fit in a std garage door height?
Old     (ldc)      Join Date: Jan 2006       02-02-2006, 11:38 AM Reply
No i have not tried folding it down, but i was told it folds in two pieces, the thicker part back half is hinged and folds towards the back end of the boat and the front half sits on the the windshield. So nothing ends up higher than the windshield so it will fit in a 7' tall garage door.

I love the new tower. The only thing about that tower is you are limited on speakers. Other than the factory speakers the Titan speakers fit that tower. The boat looks awesome. My Boardstock should be here in a month or so.

Sweet pull!
Will that tower fit my boat? It's a 2000 Elite-V:

ef3529 have you folded that tower down or seen it folded down? I'm wondering if it folds below the windshield.
Old     (ef3529)      Join Date: Nov 2003       02-03-2006, 8:16 PM Reply
The new tribal tower folds down below the windshield. The Evolution(above)folds down at the level of the windshield or just above it. I love both towers but I ordered the Tribal because I did not want to be limited on tower speakers. Lance, are you going to an Avalanche this year?

I don't want to speak before I have the money in my hand, but I meet a guy about my 02 today and he loved it so I'm bout 95% sure that mine has sold so I'm hoping and praying that it goes through. Man I'm so excited about ordering the new Avalanche. I'm really afraid of the new Evolution tower fitting in my boathouse. My Hurricane tower folds just above the windsheild and it fits, but still I would hate to order mine and it not fit. Still not sure how the front tubes fold down it looks to me like they just lay over the windsheild or either wrap around it.

DC could you help a brotha out and take a pic of your tower folded down and take a measurement of the highest point from the ground while it is down?

While we are discussig a new one. Yall tell me what you think of my color scheme. I love black but my 02 is black so I think it is time for some red. I'm thinking a full red belly and gunnels, the deck will be white. Then going with Black V graphics with a silver metal flake seperating the red and black. Then maybe doing a black stripe along the chine. My other problem is I can't decide if I want the black on the boat to be metal flake black. Ya know something a little different. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Lance

Kinda like this?
If you want to play with the colors
You can still get to the Color selector I wrote for the 05 centurion web site

Lance, I am almost positive the new Evolution folds down lower than your tower. I know that there is a delay in getting the tower on the East coast. The west coast is using them up. It may delay the order so keep that in mind when you order.

Lance, i picked up my boat today and to my surprise the tower does not fold down as far as i was told it would. ARGH... but anyways its about 7'8" to the highest point of the tower in the folded position. So it WILL NOT fit under a 7' tall garage door but should fit under a 8' door. I managed to get under a 7' door but i had to pull 4 bolts to make it lay lower.

That looks good. Wonder how it would look in black metal flake. Do you think it is to much red? I think a black stripe along the chine would help break it up a little.

ef3529, thanks for the news on the delay. I will check with my dealer on that. Definetly don't want it to be too long we should be on the water in about 5 to 6 weeks.

DC, thanks for the help. My boathouse doors are 8' tall. Did you actually measure the 7'8"? Does the top of tower lay inside the cockpit or lay on top of the back deck?
Old     (krbaugh)      Join Date: Mar 2002       02-04-2006, 9:09 PM Reply
To much Red? IS that possible?? Of course it shoule be black metal flake they will mike a small amount of red flake in with the black it will look VERY coool
Old     (bigshow)      Join Date: Feb 2005       02-05-2006, 6:21 AM Reply
No, more red is always better. A victory stripe with black metal would sharp!

To Red
Also Red

Lance, i did measure it but it could be off a bit due to the curves but i am sure it is under 8'. The rear thicker part of the tower will rest on the top of the back seat. The front thinner part of the tower drops down and rests on the windshield. I will have it out next weekend, so i will snap some pics for you if its not too late.

DC, that would be awesome. I appreciate you sharing your thread as well.

Yeah, I'm definetly leaning towards the black metal flake. I have even though about going with a red deck as well. I never thought picking out my next boat color would be so difficult.

Good looking Hurricane Edward.

Well, actually Lightning, but same boat as a Hurricane. I think they had to change the name because there is a boat manufactrure with that name.
Old     (uga33)      Join Date: Jul 2003       02-05-2006, 4:47 PM Reply
My bad. You are correct. Mine 02 is a Hurricane and I'm used to calling it that.

Kevin can you show that same color scheme with the deck red. How was you able to make the bottom of the boat red on that color selector?
Old     (krbaugh)      Join Date: Mar 2002       02-06-2006, 2:17 PM Reply
"How was you able to make the bottom of the boat red on that color selector?"

I could tell you but then I would have to kill you

Centurion did not want that capability on the internet. They won't build everything you can dream up plus they usually want to charge you for it.

Oh yeah, What do you think? This is color scheme I'm leaning towards, but the only thing is I'm afraid that the silver flake will stand out to much on the red. Give me your opinions.
