I have an I/O and it is next to impossible to keep a constant speed especally with any weight in the boat. I am looking into getting a new prop. Right now the prop has a pitch of 14.5x21 I believe not positive. What pitch would you recomend, is a 19 going to make a big difference or do I need to go lower.

for a stock mercruiser 240 depending on the size of the boat you might even want to go to a 4 blade 19 or even a 17 just watch your RPM what RPM does your boat run now at WFO and figure the rule of thum is aprox 100 RPM increase with every inch pich you decrease so if your 21 will pull 4200 max a 19 will 4400 or better
