my daughter popped her left one on wednesday. there is nothing the doctors can do really is it? i know, no water or especially alcohol in it. how long does it take to heal? 2-3 weeks? longer? how will you know when it is ok?

I ruptured my left bicep tendon June 13th.
Surgery was on June 27th.
I start P.T. tomorrow for the next three months...

There's always next year!

I recently popped my eardrum. It took about 10 days for the pain to go away - of course masked slightly by the pain medication they gave me because apparently it was a pretty bad one.

The ear heals fast just like the mouth.

it depends on how bad it is. most people heal up in a couple of weeks.
Mine took about 4 months in the end - I was so relieved I didn't need surgery (which would have happened if it still hadn't healed up after 6 months).
you'll know it's ok when you can pop your ears again without hearing the air hissing out! but on the other hand, popping your ear while it's healing will slow the recovery, so you're better off getting a dr to have a look...

j2 ! i ruptured my left bicep tendon as well, kinda surprising, i always thought my arms were one of my strongest body parts. my surgery was july 22nd. get my hard cast off next week. long road ahead, good luck with your recovery! did my ear drum twice, the first time was not wakeboard related, perforated, they put a tiny piece of cigarette paper on the hole and the skin grew over the paper, pretty cool. scraping the dried blood out of my ear before they did that was excruciating though.
