That’s pretty funny. I wonder if that’s just something Zane and friends made up as a joke or if in fact Master Craft is behind it. If it is just as if it comes across to me a harmless way of poking fun than that’s one thing. If Master Craft is behind it then I don’t know why but it seems kind of 3rd grade. I have seen some really slick/well done Master Craft ads's for some reason I dont think they would throw mud. But if they are into throwing mud Then let the war begin I think everyone could do a great funny parody of each other’s boats/products. It would be great. Finally we could see Manufacturer’s fighting it out head to head instead of the traditional boat wars we see here.

putting down the competition in order to promote your products? hmmm... I will admit that it was clever though... (Message edited by wakereviews on November 29, 2007)

I was in a fiberglass shop last night and asked the owner for his opinion on new boats. It seemed he could provide an honest opinion as one who works on but doesn't own a boat. We walked to a Centurion that hit a rock. He pointed out all the weakness and issues that could have been avoided in the stringers and fiberglass. This took several minutes. So I asked which he prefers to work on. Without hesitation he blurted out Malibu, claiming their glass work and detail is second to none. He showed pics of repair jobs, pointing out little nuances I would never notice and I grew up in a boat building family. I asked what he thought of Sanger since I own one. He said something like "they're alright", which I took as just that and didn't ask anymore questions. He did mention that no one is going offshore racing or through 10' swells, so they'll probably never notice. But then again, glass guys do inhale resin throughout the day so take it however you want.

That was pretty funny and clever! I envision those guys snickering their butts off as they crafted that Wedge out of cardboard!! But wasn't the Wedge out before any non-water ski X-Star hulls were produced? It kind of implies that the Wedge came out in response to the X-Star hull, which I don't believe was the case. Malibu should do one and put 3000 lbs. worth of ballast bags on Zane's back!

Those are funny! I don't really see them as mean spirited at all, just more fun. A good funslap back would be to have the Mastercraft dressed out in crazy disco attire. "Yeeeooow! I'm the Mastacraft! Look at how blingin' I look!"

.....I was showing a fellow canadian a mastercraft boat.....his response (sarcastically)"don't they make tools and stuff...must be a great boat" here in the great white north Canadian tire (aka. crappy tire)has a tool brand called mastercraft. or should that be fiberglass rivets! I have seen that. Most folks that don't boat don't have a clue what a Mastercraft is (or any other brand). I too have had the same response from some folks.

I think based on their "other" products that Malibu is the clear winner. Malibu = beach parties with blonde women Mastercraft = tools, places to sit your butt, and things that suck.
