What do you guys think? I've found that if we have a difficult time trying to get someone up on a wakeboard, we teach them to wakesurf. Definitely not as difficult or stressful on the body. Last time we were out, one of our friends who is 6'4" could not get up on a wakeboard. He simply did not get the concept for 2 1/2 days. So we decided to teach him how to wakesurf. He got that rather quickly and then when we took him out on the wakeboard he was up first time. If anything, wakesurfing's a great teaching tool as well as been great family fun

Hey Rachel, Dennis (dennish) was in my office the other day and he and his wife were commenting on this very same subject. They felt it was a great way to teach newbies. I've never tried to teach anyone to wakesurf that didn't already know how to wakeboard. I wonder if anyone else has had this same success.

Hi there !
My girlfriend could get up on a wakeboard but would not move.
She learned to wakesurf and now she is really good (she ride without the rope and "slash" the wave pretty hard). She tried again to wakeboard and on the first try she was able to cross the wakes. She said wakesurf helped her a lot to understand foot pressure to turn..
