Enzo Surfing

We just took delivery of one of our new Centurion Enzos. Since we are still breaking the boat in, we went out for a quick surf with no ballast. There are only 2 people in the boat. Sure this wake won't set any records, but we were able to ride pretty far back. Not bad for no ballast!

that wake looks non exsistant! that's pretty good if you could ride that with no ballast!

A lot of it is the board. The Red Tide board was specifically desigend to work for either larger riders or for boats with a small wake.

my friend rides a yellow loogey behind his x2, i cant ride that board to save my life on his wake

I'm sure you could ride the yellow on this wake, you would have to be closer to the boat though. What types of problems are you having?

i don't know, i would just keep nose diving the board, i weigh 130lbs and i couldn't ride the board and my friend is probably 40-50lbs bigger and he rips it up on the board, i don't know what my deal was

Make sure your back foot is up against the kick pad (the lip at the end of the board). The board is designed to be ridden with your back foot all the way back. Then take your front foot and move it closer to the toe edge of the board.

There is a good point made with these photos. There is such a HUGE misunderstanding by many folks that if they are having trouble riding, what's needed is a BIGGER wake. Whereas, a more appropriately sized board is no doubt, the real issue, especially during the inital learning phase.

Jeff, I think those are the ballast vent, purge holes, and bilge.

I think that wake looks pretty good as is, fairly long and darn clean. Once we all get going we want to ride an Inland Surfer Enzo jumbo wake. No Switch Blade on that boat, right?

Mark, I have the yellow loogey Entrust is talking about. (Love it by the way.) I think you're right regarding your front toes. If you're not careful and put weight on your front foot the board can quickly have to much weight on your heels and nose dive.....

Yes, the holes are for port side ballast overflow and empty. This boat is not setup with the Switchblade, but we have been riding another Enzo with the Switchblade in and effort to provide feedback to the manufacturer. By the way, anytime you guys make it up to Seattle, we'd be happy to take you out for a surf.

Jeff makes a good point. With the right board and rider combo, you can have fun surfing just about any wake.

bryan is working on 360s i've seen him spin a few and hes getting the spin down pretty good, i didn't think he be able to spin with those big fins

Believe it or not, the board spins just fine with the fins. I did 9 360s in a row on that board. The trick is transferring your weight from your back foot as you come up the wake and start spinning to your front foot at about 180 then back to your back foot so you don't nose dive when coming back into the pocket.

Just my 2 cents. I just bought a new yellow from Jeff at Inland and love it. I was out at clearlake last weekend and threw my first 360 and the board spun like a top. I wasn't expecting it to spin so easy and caught me off guard. But the board is very nice and if you get a chance to demo it you should. And by the way I am 6'0" and weigh 190. Thanks again Jeff.
