Hi we just got a new boat and i installed my subs which included 2 10 W6v2's on a Orion 1200d. the only location to put them was under the passenger seats but when the seats are closed the sound is not loud at all.

i am thinking of just using one of the w6's and putting it in a box under the bow filler cushion firing down the walk through into the cockpit area.
even though it is only 1 10 would it be louder than the 2 10's that are very muffled in the storage area?

When i would lift the passenger seat up i could feel a big change in the sound quality and loudness and i knew i wasn't getting the performance from the w6's i exspected so i want to do something different that will atleast give good sound quality.

thanks

Adam,
What kind of watts ( RMS ) are going to that speaker?

I have a 10" with 240 watts and the gain is up all the way.

Mike, it's a friends boat, I'll email him to post on how many watts but I think he's using a memphis audio amp (class d) pushing 500x1 RMS, btu like I said the gain is nto up to far. I was very impressed with the sound.

You'll have to ask dustin on the stereo specs. I dont know em.

I was going to put the speaker under the helm facing the driver but the spotters storage compartment worked out very well and looks awesome. I am gettng a custom grill made too and Ill post it when it is done.

hey andrew the stereo looks awesome.

my subs were facing the hull unlike yours which are facing the under side of the passenger seat. Maybe that is why i didn't get the performance i wanted.

but instead i made a new box for just 1 w6 and it fits underneath the bow filler cushion and fires toward the main seating area.
until i find a location for the 2nd sub i am just going to keep the 1 sub in the boat.

adam i got really good sound out of it but i just knew that it could be better. When i lifted the passenger seat up you could immediately feel a differnce in the sound quality and loudness. i was happy with the sound but knowing i can get more sound out of them i wanted to try something different.

I made thee box that goes under the bow filler cushion and fits in there very nicely and i am going to make another box that will go under the passenger seat and fire like Andrews Kicker.

William -

I have made (or dustin has) some other mods that you may be interested in too. A light above the rear cup holders and a light in the main storage area (near sub). I am trying to post pics as we get stuff done at my wakeside site.

I am also having a custom grill made for the sub, but I bet it isn't ready for two or three weeks.

You'll have to post some more pics of yours....

Bruce, it's a cd changer, it came with the boat. I was going to remove it but if I try and play cd's in the cd player they will skip b/c of the sub.
