Tom - check out the link JT sent you. The site has over 600 active members. We put on 3 tournaments a year and you can pretty much find a ride any day of the week.

Not much lakefront property (at least to launch your boat from) but there are plenty of good lakes around. Tons of nice places to live.

Shoot me a PM if you want more info.

There is another in Justin, Tx behind Texas Motor Speedway but I cant remember the name.

We have spent years looking for the perfect place on the lake in the DFW area and gave up. Everything was either too far, too expensive, or too busy.

Private lakes are long, small and boring (IMO). Corps lakes and big but too restricted. No docks allowed for the most part. BRA lakes are less resrictive but too far to live there full time and still commute.

If you want to do some legwork and pick your own spot out goto Dentoncounty.com and click on landmark map. From here you and See Lake Ray Roberts and Lake Lewisville. Click and drag a box around an area and Zoom in. Select DCAD and you can get property id numbers. Select an aerial photo and you can get an idea of what it actually looks like. Then goto dentoncad.com and look up who owns the property and contact them. Kinda fun.

We just signed a contract on a lot as close the Ray Roberts as we could get, but still no view or waterfront. We are a short walk to the water and it backs up to the Greenbelt trail.

i have a lake cabin about an hour north of the metroplex and you are welcome to come ride anytime i am out there. it is an hour north on US-287...Amon G. Carter Lake. this lake is just the right size and not much traffic at all. there are good areas all over the lake and we hardly ever run out of good water unless it is just really windy. i go spend most of my weekends up there, party and wakeboard the whole time.

Tom Bugg, There are a ton of great lakes all within a 1 hour range of the DFW area. The wakeboard scene is getting bigger and bigger. Like people mentioned up top, check out www.dallaswakeboarding.com to get a feel for it. If your looking for a home in a nice area close to alot of lakes I would consider the Dallas/Plano area.

Thanx so much for all your input. This is all very preliminary as of now but I have my fingers crossed.. It's going to kill me to leave Phoenix but this is a job offer I just can't turn down. I will keep you all informed (forewarned)
