~100 times for the BR. But man, when I got it, it felt great! I'm now really consistent. A big part of my initial problem was actually pulling the handle to my hips while I was rotating. This sent me sliding forward and I'd slip out onto my butt.

15 for the backroll, I did land a backroll before a wake to wake jump however! The tantrum I got after about 8 I'd say.

I worked my self on about 250 tantrum, so I tried a backroll. First try I got all the way around in droped the rope. Next 2 I slid out. On my 4th try I stomped it!! I was so happy, I will never forget that day. Good luck and keep working on it. You will get it.!! There is nothing better than the first one!!!

3 attempts for the HS backroll. Since my first one I've landed 6 of 8 attempts--only been out one other time after my first landing.

The tantrum was my first invert, and it took about 15 tries. The backroll took about 8.

HS Backroll = 3 tries Tantrum = 2 tries TS Backroll = tried 3-4 1 wakers and slid out, landed 1st try w2w Don't be impressed by any of this though, I've been riding for almost 8 years and these ase still the only inverts I'm 'consistent' on. Plus I did a LOT of trampoline training prior to on-water attempts. (Which I strongly suggest) -Steve

It took me probably 10 -15 tries for my backroll (my only invert) Next summer will be my 3rd season riding.

kingskrew... did you try the backroll on the trampoline? i've heard that its not useful or it can hinder you since you use the wake to help throw it

Yes I did practice HS and TS backrolls on the tramp prior to taking them to the water. While the HS backroll on the tramp is less helpful then say the tantrum or spins in terms of how well they transition to doing for real in the water, I feel that it still helped immensely. Muscle memory, air awareness, and repetition are the reasons I feel trampoline training helps (you can do 50 attempts on the tramp in the same amout of time you could do 5 on the water, and you dont have to tear your body up crashing). -Steve

I can't believe you guys that were landing stuff in a couple of tries. I landed a raley 1st try but I think there isn't too much to those as compared to flips. I would think you guys would have 15+ inverts if you are learning that fast. So I learned my backroll behind an i/o with no tower and no weight. Most of you guys are spoiled learning inverts behind inboards with 3K of ballast!

Backroll = 15 tries but then I lost it when I learned the Tantrum Tantrum = 6 tires Now they are both inconsistent , well actually I am now scared of the the tantrum. But I did get back my HS 3's. When I learn a new trick it seems like I lose one. Very frustrating.

Tantrum - probably around 6 tries Backroll - closer to a dozen TS fronts - closer to 6 tries I too had a trampoline with pretty good air awareness, plus my W2W was pretty solid at that point.

Back Roll - At least 50 tries Tantrum - 6 tries I find the tantrum easier than the back roll because I am more used to the back flip motion from doing it on the trampoline and off the diving board.
