Any significant differences between these two engines? I'm looking at two 2000 205V's--both roughly the same price--that each have one of these engines. What are the differences in terms of maintainance, performance, gas consumption (pretty important nowadays). etc.? I never plan on having more than 2500 lbs. of water+people, so I'm assuming both will plane relatively easily. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Jeff, you are gonna burn about 4-6 gallons with about any boat with a 350 engine while towing extra weight. Some engines will do it easier. Probably a new prop for wakeboarding will help a little with consumption. Since both are 350 engines, maintenance is really easy. The v-drive doest make it a little harder to work on, but you know that!

BIG E...He is not talking about a CARBED BU bit a FUEL injected MC

310 TBi Predator 310 HP TBI from 1996-2005. 2006 and 2007 310 MPI w/ VORTEC heads just like its predasessor

330 HP LTR MPI w/ NORTHSTAR Ignition. Awesome motor.

Prop it down to the new 14.24 x 14.50 Prop
you will LOVE it

TK, any preference between the two? Which would you rather have--cost irrelevant--for a 205V hull running around 2000lbs. of people and ballast, but rarely more than 2500? I'm thinking the 310 is plenty but have no experience with either.

if it's the same price you should get the 330. It was an option from the factory and might help your resale value - slightly - for that reason. They are both great motors and resale will ultimately come down to the boats condition and other options (tower, pp, etc). I have a 2000 205V with the 330. The factory prop is a 14x20, which is very sluggish out of the hole with weight in the boat. I just bought an OJ 14.25 x 14 CNC (XMP Edge) prop. I haven't tried it yet but people have been raving about it.

I had the 330 ltr in my last boat and loved it. I had it for five years, and 470 hrs with no problems. Fuel injected and North Star ignition is great. I did prop it down and it was a lot better. This was on an X30.
