HELP!Need a Center Ballast Bladder for 2001 X-Star

The rubber intake on my current bag (center bag)has ripped. I just talked to the Mastercraft dealer in my area and they quoted me $489.00

for a new bladder. I can't believe that. It looks like a waterbed bag. I expected to pay about $100-$150 for the bag. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a replacement bag for a reasonable price.

How bad is the rip ? I had the same boat with the blue center bag and it ripped on the seam about 3 inchs. I fixed it with a waterbed repair kit, worked perfect. The blue bags are notorious for this.

Reread your post and if the sack is unfixable I know there are alot of places to custom order a sack. Try http://www.bigwake.com/ might be a much cheaper way to go

Elbow a 90 with a small 3/4 nipple into the hole and put a hose clamp around the material. Then wrap the hose clamp to protect the bag from the sharp edges; about 4 bucks total in supplies from OSH.

You can upgrade easily to the new ProX Series sacks. All the new MC's use them instead of your current bag. Shouldnt be but 150-200 after you add in adapters to convert your current plumbing.

You could also stick a small through hull fitting in the hole, stretch the hole to pop the flange through, a little bit of 5200 to seal it and screw down the nut, you're done for 5$

Give Fly High a call and ask to speak with Mike (Seipel).
He may have some left-over MC sacs. The "rubber" fitting that broke are no longer used for this obvious reason.
Make sure you ask Mike for the new valmex material and the quick connect fittings that are used in our Pro X Sacs as well as all of the major OEM boats.
You should have no problem connecting the old with the new...

Danny Of the posts you've made on this forum, all but 4 or 5 have been aimed at bad mouthing Mastercraft. I will agree that Mastercraft isn't perfect, but no boat company is.
Get over it.

There are some decent ideas of a quick fix above, but if you decide to get new I can say the rear and integrated bow sac Pro X Series bags I bought are of quality design and construction.

That thru hull fitting suggestion Psyclone suggested would work and be the easiest fix.

its a 2001 X-Star bladder bag that probably has been pumped up and out a lot. It's normal wear and tear.

I agree w/ Matthew no boat company is perfect.
