I was wondering if anyone had any torque specs or anything else related to HP charts on any of the Indmar engines. It seems it is kept very secret and I am curious what real difference there is between an Indmar 310 and 350 engine both 5.7 litre V8's. Any info out there??

edit; wouldn't let me fix spelling mistake in title

Torque = HP at around 5280 RPM's. HP is a calculation based on torque and using RPM's.

here is an example

torque * RPM * constant = hp

87.5 lbf-ft * 60 rev/min * X = 1 hp

X = 1 / (60 * 87.5) = 1/5250

torque * RPM * 1/5250 = hp

hp = (torque * RPM) / 5250

It might be a silly question, but why do you care? Change the prop to make up for low end, hole shot or less prop for top end. Are you running over 2000# of ballast? I have the 320hp Indmar in my 21V, with a new prop and gravity games ballast (well over 2000#) and have no problem getting up on plane...

There is a video test I've seen on a sterdrive Four Winns (I think) with three different engines. I can't find it right now but they rate two small blocks and the big block. It's worth watching to answer part of your question waterfreak. If I find it I post the url but I not near my other computer.

Go to Indmar's web site and contact customer service thru an email. They are very responsive and easy to work with. They gave me the torque curve for my engine verses the MCX350. I have the L-18 big block engine.

Never have to worry about HP or torque.
