Yea, the lakes and rivers are just starting to open up here. Probably another month before it's on the water.

Insuranceman, that's a pretty tight looking ride you've got as well.

Nick, the color scheme on your boat kicks ass! The tower really tops it off! (pun intended)

See, people on here are happy for you!

Congrats...here's to the first pull. Wanna say April 1st? We will be summerizing our boat during my spring break.

That was me who wrote the message above, not wlxstar.

When are you getting more ballast?
Old     (lumpy9138)      Join Date: Mar 2004       02-28-2007, 8:41 PM Reply
We could always chuck a couple of your sacks in there. If we go on April 1st it will have to be behind your boat, I don't pick up until the 16th.

I bought an 06 VLX across the street lat year. At Munson Marine. Where do you ride?
Old     (lumpy9138)      Join Date: Mar 2004       03-01-2007, 6:45 PM Reply
We ride the lower Fox River between the McHenry and Algonquin dams. Sometimes we will also ride on Wonder Lake.
Old     (bmoan)      Join Date: Feb 2007       03-02-2007, 6:21 AM Reply
We should meet up when it gets warmer out. I have a hard time finding people to ride with. Sometimes my friends come but by the time we get up to the lake from Chicago it's around 12:00 on the weekends and it is to rough. And none of they wakeboard anyway.

Congrats man. We used to ride allot on the Illinois river out of Morris. It is a pretty good area to go as well.

Enjoy the ride.

Chris,
Nice looking ride, Congrats
Brain
I ride on the lower river and it seems like I am always looking for a third as well. My boat will be at Port Barrington across from broken oar this year. We should swap numbers so we can make it easy to go riding. My new boat is an all yellow XStar. If you see me on the river wave me down
Paul

Congrats on the boat.

Sounds like the lower Fox River riders need to have an outing in the summer to get our things straight. I dunno how many times last year I had to not go out or set up the "Dummy" in the passenger seat to be the observer.
Old     (bmoan)      Join Date: Feb 2007       03-02-2007, 10:31 AM Reply
Dummy thats a great idea. I got stopped twice last year because I did'nt have a third. They let me go both times though without a ticket.
Paul I am all about exchanging #'s for the summer. I have an 2006 black and marble VLX
I will definatly meet ya down by the broaken oar. I might even need ya if you are going out early in the season. I can't bring my boat to my marina until the middle of May.

Hey Paul, I think i've seen you out on the X-30 before.

Brian,I will be keeping my boat at the Broken Oar, and my friends and I are always happy to take on new riders. Just chip in a little for gas and we're good to go.

Hey Chris what is a "killer deal" for a boat like your new Moomba? Low 40's???

Here's a lousy pic of my new 07 Sanger V215. These pics are before all the extras were put on.

Brian,
That’s sound good; we will be going out early this year. I got a new boat and did not even get to ride in it yet. Is the ice off the river yet? What marina are you putting your boat at, bummer on May

Zoah, I think you’re on to something about a meeting of the lower Fox riders. I was stopped twice last year and they let me go each time with a ticket for no third. In case your wondering its $75 each time you get a ticket and you can’t plead not guilty about the third guy that is not there.

Chris, I was the one in the yellow X30 last year. It is for sale and I think I have a buyer for it today. We use to put our boat in the Fox River forest preserve. Broken oar is nice, it’s good to get in an early set and then go for breakfast and a couple of bloody marys to start the day at the Oar.
Was your boat in the front show room, I think I saw it driving by?
Old     (lumpy9138)      Join Date: Mar 2004       03-03-2007, 12:24 PM Reply
Paul, it was in the front showroom. It has since been moved out back.

I wanted to order one from the factory, but they wanted to get the boat off the floor, so they gave me a great deal and everyone is happy!

I keep my boat at Chain O lakes Marina on Fox Lake. I will have to come through the locks in order to get to the river. Not sure what there hours of operation are though. I would be more than happy to pitch in for gas, as long as it gets me out on the water as early as possible. Summers are not that long here as it is and not being able to get my boat until mid May sucks.
Not sure if the rivers are still frozen. I live downtown Chicago and there is still ice on Lake Michigan though.
Old     (lumpy9138)      Join Date: Mar 2004       03-04-2007, 12:54 PM Reply
Brian, how early do you want to get out? On the weekends my friends and I are usually on the water by 6:00 am, we're a little goofy that way.
Old     (paulw)      Join Date: Dec 2006       03-04-2007, 3:35 PM Reply
Chris,
Then I did see if for a few weeks driving by, I think I almost hit somebody at the light gawking at it, sweet looking ride. I think getting a deal on a close out is better than ordering new and spending a lot more. I was not looking to get a new boat but the deal that I got on the new boat was just to good to pass up.
Brian
River is still frozen and I don't think any one is going out this soon. The snowmobiles are still going nuts on our river, but not for long. They are calling for 40s to 50s later in the week.
There are spots on the lower river that you can dock at and they are open earlier in the year. Do you keep your boat in the water or on a lift?
Old     (bmoan)      Join Date: Feb 2007       03-05-2007, 8:20 AM Reply
I have in and out service for my boat. They take it out of the water and put it back on the trailer and put it in a garage. 6:00 seems a little early in the morning for me I usually get up around 7:00. Hopefully we can get on the water in a month or so. I have a wetsuit but I think I left it in my boat for the winter.
