I need to replace the bulb in my DLP TV. After 4 years it finally went out. I've searched aroundn online at where to buy and called Hitachi direct, but wanted opinions? Of course Hitachi sent me to the most expensive place. IS this a "get what you pay for" thing, or are the cheaper alternatives worth looking into? I'm looking at a bulb from the manufactuer reccomended place being close to $300.....competitor who claim OEM right at $120.

Looked at river valley electronics. the manufactuer recomended encompass.

I have done both types of bulbs (Mitsubishi direct, and E Bay) in my Mitsubishi DLP tv's. 3 years later on both, and they are still running fine. I would go the cheaper route next time.

I replaced the bulb and color wheel with parts I bought on Ebay. Bulb has been in for several years and color wheel for at least a couple. They work great and that's where I'll buy them when they go out.
