So i am thinking about ordering an XLV and i was wondering if you guys had opinions on any of the options.

I am definantly getting
the Gravity III and
Perfect Pass

I am considering the CNC prop upgrade, The hydralic wakeplate and i was wondering if you guys recommended going up the 340hp engine

thanks, suggestions appreciated

I would save the cash on the CNC and geta different prop staright from Acme. Much better performance from them. DEf opt for the hydraulic wakeplate. Adds to the wake and performance of the boat 10 fold the cost. I would almost put that as the girst option on the list. Engine upgrade well..........if you can swing it don't see why not. A bigger engine will never hurt you.

Those are my thoughts

definitely go with the wakeplate. The boat is not complete without it. The Cnc wakeboard prop is the best performing prop I have ever experienced with a boat so that would be a must have for me. If you have the cash go with the 340 engine. In the long run it will save you money in gas and help on resale. The 325 performs well as long as you have the wakeboard prop and not just a ton of weight.

is the upgraded CNC a 14.25 equivalent?

The 340 engine is only 15 more hp but about 40lbs of low end torque over the 325 engine. You're probably going load that boat down with people and ballast so I'd go for it. Is the 340 even an option in 08 or did they switch to the 6.0L? If you're paying more than $475 for that cnc prop I'd skip that option and buy one yourself. Plus that way you'll get the other prop standard and have a spare which everyone needs. I also think the wakeplate is a must. Good luck and enjoy the boat. If you're going to order the boat I'd skip the gravity 3 bags and see if they'll just plumb everything then buy your own bags and buy the 750's for the rear lockers and the 1100 lbs sack for the front.

I had an '06 XLV with the 325hp in it. It did great even with the Gravity III ballast full, in my opinion its not worth the $1500 upgrade to get the 15hp. Throw on a K&N and you're there. I had the prop upgrade, and the wake plate is a must to mellow out the wake if you want to.

its only 95$ to upgrade to the CNC prop which i will prolly get just b/c i dont want to deal with getting a new prop and putting it on. I think i am gonna get the bigger engine because i am usually loaded down with ppl. i wish i could swing the 409hp but that is pushin my budget. I will def. go with the wakeplate. And i am pretty sure i am gonna go all aftermarket with the stereo.

Snowfire it's not quite that simple. Contact Indmar and get the real skinny on the difference between the two engines.

CNC prop is a must at $95 bucks it is night and day difference from stock and probably one of the best props out there for that boat. Wake plate is really nice. One nice feature of the wake plate is you can put it down to run at higher speeds with ballast full without porposing.

Look at the boat show options. They are throwing in 4 options for free.
See here:
http://www.moomba.com/
Then Click on the BOAT SHOW SPECIALS Icon in the middle of the page.

Sweet they are actually throwing in a warranty as a boat show incentive

I realize the power band might be a bit different, but its not HP that gets you out of the hole, nu bu, its torque. Im' just saying, for $1500 I can't justify it. I have had my Gravity III ballast full with 6-8 people on board and the boat got on plane without hesitation or pushing water. I just ordered a 2008 Supra 21V with the 325 and didn't think twice about it. So in a bigger boat like the XLV, it should be enough...

That's what I was saying snowfire. The 340 might only have 15 more hp but has quite a bit more torque than the 325. Re-read the post.

Another thing to think about with the 340HP is the catalytic converter engine that skiers choice is putting out. Might be a nice feature.

Wakeplate, prop (must if you add ballast), and if you intend to surf at all, get the 340 for the cats. My next boat will have cats no question, just tired of the fumes, and it is safer plus adds a little power.

Andy, I have the XLV with all the options you listed that you were questioning getting. Everything you listed is a must for me. However, I live at altitude so the 340 engine was a no brainer. You're at pretty much sea level so you may not need it. I purchased mine at the boat show with all the incentives. There was a rep. from the factory and he threw in my engine upgrade to the 340 for free. Check it out, can't hurt to ask. The prop they are offering is excellent. It's the one I have. I just upgraded to it from a previous upgraded prop that I was running and WOW what a difference. Definitely worth the $95 for it. Wake plate a must! Perfect Pass is great, once you use it you will never go back. Try and get the new GPS Perfect Pass unit though. It's called StarGazer by Perfect Pass.

You will love this boat and it's size!

The stargazer PP isn't offered from Moomba stock as far as I know. You may be able to put it in aftermarket. The 340 in that boat is a no brainer. It is like a 500 upgrade. The wakeboard prop transformed my 24 from lazy to a performer. you will love it.

Ok guys...here is the real skinny. prop upgrade YES! 14.25 x 14. Hole shot is remarkable! XLV great boat! I had the 325 in my 05 and it NEVER had one issue. I sold that boat with 140 hrs on it in 8 months. I got the 07 XLV with the 340. I put 150 hrs on it in 7 months and i had tons and tons of engine problems. Stalls, surges, etc. I may have gotten a bad one or something but that is my 2 cents. Great wake! Great boat otherwiseUpload
