I'm taking a guy out on my boat this weekend & he brought in his board to show me. Over 20+ years old. A Hyper-lite before they were Hyperlite. To see how far things have come is pretty cool if you ask me.
I dont think that it is quit 20 years old, here are a few photos on me old skweling last summer.
Super fun to rock the old boards! The best part it the 12 inch stance. Right before I went out on my old Hyperlite Pro, my buddy went and rocked the old sandle straps and totaly destroyed his ankle! Thank god for boots!
Andy, do you remember the reason behind the phasers on the bottom? I had the old Shapiro, 3 giant fins and sandels straps, it was the pimp back in the day.
That guy has some good stories!! Like Andy said, it's not 20 years old, and he didn't make those bindings! That was the first board I owned and it had those same bindings on it. I believe it was back in 92 or 93. It's kinda funny that it had high wrap bindings way back then, but it wasn't for another 4-5 years that high wrap bindings really took off.
I still have mine somewhere. Jakober is correct they used the Phasers to make the board not stick to the water they used the same thing on the knee boards back then also. Back then I worked at a ski shop and when these things came out we said it would never last. Glad I was wrong. I got to see if I still have the knee board and take a pic of it.
