303 aerospace is not a cleaner, it is a conditioner and uv protectant.

The cleaner is not as reputable as the protectant. Many of us swear by the protectant, but not the cleaner.

Now that Fantasik is out, what is the best cleaner? Magic Eraser? Soap and Water isn't cutting it.

Hey evilONe... why is Fantastic out? I've heard as long as it's not a silocone base, Fasntastik is okay?

Correct Craft issued a notice to all boat owners that the Fantastik formula had been changed and was no longer good for your interior and stop using it! They have yet to recommend a new product.

I can recommend the magic eraser but just buy a lot of them because you'll go through them. I did my entire boat last weekend and I went through 6 pads. It had been a while since I'd cleaned though. After cleaning with any product, most of us would tell you that 303 is the best to put on to protect and replenish.

When did Fantastik change it's formula... I used it all last year. I will look for a replace this year, but was I in the clear last year?

Fantastic changed its formula last year (the change is the "Antibacteial" part of the formula which added chlorides). I have had conversations with Marine Specialties Group (manufacturer of marine vinyl) and they have confirmed that the only recommended products to use on vinyl are 1)Dawn dishwashing liquid 2)Ivory Snow liquid 3)303 Aerospace protectant. No other products are recommended unless they are specifically formulated for vinyl/leather applications.

Malco Plastic and Leather Cleaner. Nothing better. Don't take a chance with these other universal cleaners. www.malcopro.com
Specificaly designed for vinyl and leather, followed by 303 protectant. You can't do any better.

I just got some of the Malco Plastic and Leather Cleaner, and I agree that it is great. I had some deep dirt in the little vinyl dimples. I tried vineger, Fantastic, and soapy water. The Malco stuff worked ten times better. I will say the stuff is hard to find. You HAVE to call the company number to find out where you can get some. In my area, it was only sold by a road rep. He delivered a gallon to my door for $15. The best $15 I have spent on boat care products yet.
(Thanks Sparky)

i have always used water mixed with a little bit of vinegar. works great and a gallon of vinegar is cheap and will basically clean just about anything and its lasts forever

Darin, glad you're happy with it! I've been spoiled on it for a long tome now. It works nicely with a soft to medium bristle brush for more stubborn grime.
