Gotta love the oldies, I had looked at a few like yours when buying. Sweet boat. How much ballast? hows the wake with/out ballast?
Old     (lovin_the_wake)      Join Date: Jul 2007       10-14-2007, 7:37 AM Reply
Right now I'm only running 800lbs of ballast but this winter I'm going to plumb in 1200lbs and I'll have 2 440lb side sacs . . . w/o ballast and the wake plate up it's a nice little rampy wake and w/ ballast and the plate about 1/4 down it's much steeper but not as rampy it has more of a lip on it but you still get great pop I don't have the wake dialed in yet

I love your boat! I had my hooks on the same boat(before I got my MC) when the seller made me drive 2 hours to tell me he sold it 5 minutes after I called and said "I'm on my way with the cash". I have friends with Supras and I luv the ride. Still like my ride, but I think you got an awsome boat...

Sweet boat, that gel looks amazing. Here is a picture of mine after a little elbow grease. I have had mine for about a year and half and I love it. How does the Rhino liner on the platform feel?. I just built a bigger platform out of 1-1/8" plywood and covered it with epoxy but I need something non slip to put over that.

Nice I love these boats . . . I love the Rhino liner on my platform but I still have the 2 pads on it as well so I don't scrap up my knees getting out of the water . . . What tower is that ? Are you running ballast ? What did you do with your old platform ? Sorry for all the questions

The tower is from diywake.com. I actually got it off ebay before he started that site but it is the same tower. It has been great so far with the exception of the powdercoat being pretty cheaply done but since I only payed $650 for the whole thing I definitely cant complain.

I usually run 300lbs of sand under the playpen up front, 150lbs of sand under the back seat and a 400lb V-drive sac on both sides of the engine. I also built a bench to go over one of the sacs so I wouldnt have to walk on it and it adds another seat or two. I am hoping to replace the sand under the rear seat with a fly high tube sac this winter. It could probably use a little more weight up front with that set up but I usually just make a couple people sit up there and the wake is great.

I took the brackets off the old platform and used them on the new one but the actual platform is still sitting in my garage.

Have you changed your prop ?
Old     (maxx_wake)      Join Date: Sep 2003       10-16-2007, 9:01 AM Reply
I changed my prop at the beginning of this season. It is a 3 blade ACME.

how's the hole shot with that prop ?
Old     (maxx_wake)      Join Date: Sep 2003       10-16-2007, 11:38 AM Reply
I have been really happy with the prop. This past weekend I had all 1300lbs of ballast and 6 people all sitting in the back of the boat, it took a little longer than normal but it still got up on plane. I think if I had made a couple people move to the front it would have popped out of the water like it normally does. For some reason the engine was running rough all afternoon and having trouble holding idle so I am not even sure we had full power at that point.

I can't say enough about a prop change on these older boats. It made a night and day difference on my Mastercraft. We got to about 1200 lbs without a problem. but then, she just wouldn't get on plane. Having a bigger/older boat it really made a difference, felt like adding a lower gear, if that makes sense.

Nice boats fellas. I think I'll try to get that original shine back over the winter. both of your boats look great.
