Anyone just do their first 25 hr. service? I have a Sanger V215 with 5.7L Black Scorpion. Is there a standard punch list that the shop follows? And what has everyone been paying for this check-up?

Check your owner's manual - it should have a guide for what is performed with that service. Most likely, change oil, trans oil, lube and tighten drive train etc...

Depends on the dealer. Average for a full 25-hr service is usually $250-$300, but I've seen some pay as low as $90.

(although I don't see how a full 25-hour service could be done for only $90)

Getting ready to do it on my 05 VLX. Not looking forward to it. Should cost about $255.00 That equals to lost gas money, but then again the BU gotta run right to play...

$90 sounds unrealistic unless that's just a oil change and top off the trans and V-drive fluids. I haven't read anything from Merc that states exactly what the first 20 - 25 Hr service entails. Has anyone?

I paid $310 for my V drive at my local Tige shop.
They check everything, and realigned the prop shaft.

Thanks for the input. $250 - $300 is about what I was expecting for a thorough check-up.

Prop shaft realignment??? Because you hit something or is that standard procedure every X-hours?

I was told that after the first 20 hours everything needs to be checked, and realigned
Then there is no need to do this until there is a problem. But there is a coupling on the V-drive that needs the spacing checked every 100 hours.

More accurately you would probably call it engine alignment, not shaft alignment. They check the connection between the engine and the prop shaft to be sure it's perfectly aligned. If not, the engine is adjusted.

OR are we talking V-drive alignment since that's what the shaft is connected to in my Sanger V215?

On a V-drive, the V-drive is permanently attached to the tranny, and the motor. There is no adjustment between the two as far as alignment.

When the shaft comes out of the v-drive, there is a coupling to the prop shaft. This is where the alignment occurs, but you have to move the entire engine/v-drive to align it, make sense?
