extend the rope/handle until the board rides up the wake right before the wake starts to crumble. Different lengths at different weights/conditions/speed. There isnt 1 set setting regardless if its the same boat and weight on it.

Wakesetter, your 13 and 100 lbs, if your PP is right your riding to fast.

Ya When the boats loaded up i ride at 26 to clean up the wake which it usually is, but if there's only the driver and a spotter in the boat i go 24.

Wakesetter i think that your PP is off a little bit. At 70 feet your wake should be clean at 19-21 mph.

I think it's pretty funny that you people are telling a dude that he's riding too fast. It's very possible that he just wants to ride that way.

I've been riding 85 feet at 25-26 mph.

I agree Thane. I also think its funny how this thread is pretty much useless without boat information, weight etc.

00 vlx 75-80 ft at 26ish with 2200-2800lbs

00 SAN 80-85 ft at 26ish with stock weight + a sac or two.

Thane, the kid is 13 with basic wake tricks, unless his name is Jacob Valdez he is riding to fast. If he were riding at our wakeboard camp we would slow him down and am pretty confindent he would have better progression/results.

21-23 mph, and rope depends on the boat, usually between 65-75 and the odd time as short as 60.

22.5mph - 65ft line

Where does it say all he has is basic wake tricks? If speeding up to clean up the wake is all he can do, then it's the right thing to do.
Oh, me, 75 @ 23.5 behind my boat.

Sparky, to answer your question, "where does it say all he has was basic wake tricks" on another thread he asked the question what is the deference between a Backroll & a Tantrum. Not disrespecting the kid, just trying to help him out. I still maintain 26 MPH is to fast for him. He is a Oregon rider & if he wants to roll over to Bend we will hook him up with some free lessons. Wakesetter PM me if your intrusted.

It's all good. I thought maybe I missed what his skill level was. Speeding up to clear up the wake is better than hitting a crumbling wake though...

Just start with the shortest rope length. When you jump constant over the second wake, you can make the line longer. That is how we work, until we found the right length.
