Hey all , does anyone have info on the new X1 boat which replaces the x2 Mastercraft???

I heard it was goning to be called the X20 or X22. I think MC is keeping a tight lid on it because they don't want the delay problem they had with the new X-star while ironing out the details

There's all types of rumors around.

My bet:
X-20, 20' Pickle Fork V-Drive. NOT replacing the X-2.

I can't imagine them replacing the X-2 any time soon. When I picked up my boat two weeks ago my dealer had at least 50 boats in the yard of which almost half were X-2's or 205's.

Do you remember that interview that Dave did with the CEO of MC a month ago. I believe he said the X-star was their best selling boat. I'd have to call BS on that one. The sales guy was saying they had sold around 5 X-stars this year vs 20 X-2's that were in the yard.

I don't think you just discontinue selling your best selling boat. Look at Malibu, they didn't throw away the old VLX. Tige made their 20V into the Switch.

I guess we'll see in August or September. That's when they start production on the 06's right?

Pat- when he said that the X-star was the best seller, he ment the X-2 hull. If you read on it says something about that. The 205 hull is still the best all around boat hull they have made. I hope they dont get rid of the 205/X-2 hull any time soon, but i am open to knowing as much as i can about the "X-20" or as i have heard it called the "baby X-star"

The dealer I talked to said the x-2 was going to become a baby x-star pickle fork and all. I think he said it was going to come out in 07. The reason they sell way more x-2's verse x-stars is cost. How many people can afford a X-Star? I know I can't but I can afford an X-2.

I am in the market for a new boat...my local MC dealer just told me he received an email from the HQ that there are 4 boats, X1's destined for South Africa. They are doing away with the X2 and this replaces it. His words were, "its a baby x-star"....!!
He also gave me guesstimate on price and it seems close the the X2.

I work at a dealer and have heard VERY little about this boat. I have spoken with my boss and he has asked me not to say a whole lot on the subject. With all of the "rumors" and the "I heards" that will go around on this it is hard to find out what is real. The boat is a "project" that is being worked on. There is not a name for the boat, nor what it will replace if it replaces anything. The HOPEFULL complete boat will be for the 06 model year but they (MasterCraft) are not telling anyone for sure due to the delays that the X-Star and the 245/X-45 had to go through. The best way to haddle this is to wait. An 06 boat would mean that the release would be in July. If there are delays for any reason the boat will not be released. I can't wait to find out what is REALLY going on with the boat but there is no way to find out for sure untill it is in a dealers hands. If the boat is ready when MC hopes pictures will start showing up in like June. And if someone is really in need of info hang out on Telico Lake where the MC factory is, if the Rumors are true that this boat is coming then it would be out there being tested!

HAHAHA, Why would Matt be jealous? That all white X-star is one of the best i have seen all year!!! Nice to see some one making a statement with an all white boat that looks better than some boat with 5 diffrent colors on it. Frankly, I'd much rather have Matt's all white X Star, or my all red X2 than the Barb Wire X Star anyways. I saw Matt's profile before I even posted.

And as to why he (or anybody) would be jealous? Well, Ryan didn't have to pay for his boat, and I'm assuming everybody else here did/is.

I'm just as jealous as the next guy. The difference is, I am happy for Ryan, not bitter.

I was at the factory about 2 months ago and I saw the mold for the new X-2. It has the pickle fork front end and a lot wider. The guys told me it throws a great wake similar to the X-Star but a little smaller and a little more narrow.

ok so Tyler let me get this right. They are changing the X2 to a pickle fork. Are they going to keep the 205V hull for completely discard it?

From what I have heard from on of the engineers from the factory they are not replacing the X-2/205V, but adding another boat that is a pickle fork bow (I am assuming this because he would acknowledge or deny it). I wouldn't be suprised if the X2 becames more like the Malibu Vride series, which would be great because they would get even cheaper!

I think it would be a mistake for them to cheap out and put a bunch of crap on the x-2 like they did for the V-ride.

the new x2 2006 is a baby xstar. will be build around august.

the x1 2006 is the actual x2. cheaper parts. only rear kgb. no billet aluminium parts...entry level

the x10 2006 wil be new (like x-30) in december
