Does anyone know what kind of boat Kid Rock is driving in his new music video "All Summer Long?"

It's a Chris Craft 20-21' Utility

No its actually a Grand Craft. Google them for their website. The grand son of the founder of Chris Craft is apparantly part of this company. Pretty cool boat though....

I thought it was a restored Century -- the video shows hull markings that are really similar to the late-60's models. I looked at the Grand Craft website and the hull markings don't match, nor does the layout of the boat? And I think the boat in the video is shorter than 20'. Would love to know what it actually is...

According to the "behind the scenes" video, it's a 2003 Grand Craft, built in Holland Michigan.

weird boats. kinda cool for a booze cruise in Italy, but looks really out of place.

Riva yachts makes some cool $$$ ski boats with extensive woodwork. but i'm not about to watch a kid rock vid to figure it out...

Good song. Kid Rock is brilliant, especially his old stuff that most people have never heard.

Hate his music if it's not for you, but the guy is anything but "no talent." He plays every instrument and writes / plays in several genres, then mixes them together. Listen to a live album, he's a great entertainer.

Put me in the minority, listened to the history of Rock on the way to work today and loved it.

Quite the musician as well. Saw him in concert, and he played horns, guitar, drums, piano, etc..Good show.

Kid is the Man. Of course tastes are individual but you can't deny his talent. Very good live entertainer.

i like his creativity. Not too many artists regularly cross genres or collab with so many ppl. part of me wants him to just make music and being so damn innovative. some of its REALLY cheesy, but we all end up singing along with it. I've just heard that song 1000 times more than I would care to.
Old     (bill_airjunky)      Join Date: Apr 2002       09-25-2008, 9:42 AM Reply
Thats what you get for listening to FM radio. I'm usually on XM, Sirius or an MP3 player & didn't even hear the song till about July of this year. Yea, it's played too much on satellite radio now, but I have a dozen other stations to switch to if need be.
I grew up on old Skynyrd, Segar & Zevon. So I still love the song & Rock's talent. A few years ago he played a club here... afterwards he sat around playing guitar & drinkin whiskey till like 5am. No doubt the guy has a buttload of talent.

WOW....I almost never jump into music arguments, but Holy Cow, to call Kid Rock "No talent A$$ Clown"?

I can see if you don't like his music, that's understandable, to each their own. But to say that he has 'no talent' is pretty ummm, narrow minded. IMHO.

Yeah, He was so excited to do his first ever own guitar solo on one of his last CD's. He was already making it big and wanted to improve and expand his talents. But thats not really relevent to the cool boat hes cruisin in.

Okay fine if he can play multiple instruments himself I'll take away the NT part but he is still an AC. Maybe it's just the rednecky stringy hair? What about when he first came out, I can't say I thought much of the content of his songs, either the complexity of the music or the lyrics. If ya wanna get serious. ;)

CRAZY , i had no idea kid rock was even taken seriously anymore...he sure f'ed up Sweet Home Alabama anyways...there are some good arguments on here already, and its cool to see he plays some instruments..imho he is still kind of an ass clown though. He played a show here a cpl. months ago in one of our bigger venues and it was like a ghost town from what i heard...anyone ever heard that George Bush quote about Kid Rock...I'll try to find it, he said Kid Rock was "kick-ass!"...funny sh$t

How much money has your talent made you...in comparison?

I went to a Kid Rock concert and had a great time, I'll go again!

IMO, he was way ahead of his time back in the day. No one wanted to listen to a white (white trash at that) rapper. Now people are more open minded to other, non-black culture in rap music. I like listening to all of it, although, I also agree that he has some corny stuff too. Skip!

FWIW, KR can play the guitar, banjo, harmonica, drums, bass, and keyboard/piano off the top of my head. I'm pretty indifferent to the dude, but love him or hate him, musical talent isn't something he's lacking.

My brother went to a number of the shows at Clear Lake, CA this year & last..... including Kid Rock. He said the show was awesome & he really rocked the house. I guess tickets were like $140.... ouch!

Bill K,
I think we payed 100.00 per ticket and it was worth every penny. He put on a great show and Rev run showed up too to help blow it up.

I also spotted Tonis in the crowd. That's worth at least 100.00 bucks right there.

The guy's about as talented as they come these days. Anymore, all the talent relies on the producer who can dig up electronic sounds and mix them together. Nevermind a guy who sounds exactly the same in person as on the radio. Love him or hate him he is a down home, southern redneck American, who loves to make music. Sweet Home Alabama is only part of the lyrics, and has the same chord and tune as Warewolves of London and Sweet Home Alabama. Nicely done, and a great summer song floating in the redneck yacht club!

How can a "no talent a$$ clown" sell over 25 Million albums so far in his career (and its not over!)?? Just because YOU don't like his music, does not make him a no talent a$$ clown! Jealousy is a b^t(h.

His music is fun. There is a time and place for it. I listen to everything. Country, Metal, Rap/Hiphop (as long as it's not mainstream rap), Electronic, you name it, I probably listen to it.

Some of his music is tacky. That's part of what makes it fun.

Tacky music.... thats funny. There is a list of artists like Kid Rock who have made an entire career of writing &/or playing "tacky music".

And the Kid's mentor, Hank Jr has to top that list.

Um, apparently Ronnie Van Zant & Garry Rossington thought it was. They helped write & perform in both versions! Along with Warren Zevon (Werewolves of London) and Ed King (another Skynyrd member).

Kid Rock will NEVER be associated with making good, quality, timeless music. We could argue all day over this, but lets be serious for a second..he's a D-lister. Kid-freakin-Rock, you've got to be kidding me...he's a novelty act who can play a few instruments and knows exactly what the general public will bite into...if its radio friendly and has a familiar sound, the public will eat it up. Especially the American public( we're not to keen on the Kid up here in Canada, eh, we have other super bands like Nickleback) He may not be a class act, or have any impact on music in North America, but he sure as hell isn't dumb. He's making millions, but sometimes I wonder how he sleeps at night knowing that he is not really pushing any boundaries, etc... just my 2 cents
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       09-30-2008, 11:49 AM Reply
He's done nothing BUT push boundaries. You obviously haven't heard enough of his stuff to make that call.

Like in several other threads, you're simply spouting your opinions as if they were factual. You have a pathetic way of trying to make your point.

You don't like Kid Rock. But millions of people do.
Old     (bill_airjunky)      Join Date: Apr 2002       09-30-2008, 12:02 PM Reply
Seems like getting hits in hip hop, rap, rock & country would be the very definition of "pushing boundries".
Old     (to_blind)      Join Date: Mar 2007       09-30-2008, 12:10 PM Reply
will Kid Rock ever make it to Cleveland? nah. i doubt it. Do you have a better, less pathetic way for me to spout my opinions? haha think about it, is there another way to voice opinions that doesn't sound so factual...haha, oh wow, good stuff J-Rod, you keep fighting the good fight. read my first post, and as you can tell, i really don't care...i even gave props to him at one point...get a problem man.
Old     (pri3st)      Join Date: Aug 2007       09-30-2008, 12:14 PM Reply
Everyone hatin on Kid Rock obviously has formed there opinion on songs they've heard on the radio. There isn't too many bands, artists, groups that don't put out a few "radio friendly that has a familiar sound" songs. You think they do it for free, no it's all about $$$$$$$. Wouldn't you put out "radio friendly" songs to get more people to buy your shi+? Duh. Some of you people must think Kid Rock has only been around a few years, because he's only been on the radio a few years. 90% of his stuff is definitely not "radio friendly" Listen to some of his old OLD stuff. Also the guy puts on one hell of a live show, how many of your favorite bands sound good live? Not many. Besides, who doesn't like strippers dancing around on stage?

Man all I wanted to know was what kind of boat he was cruisin around in while I sit on my chair in the mornings and watch CMT and GAC. I wasnt trying to get all in depth about who is who in the music industry. To each his own. Some people hate ANYTHING that is mainstream just because it is just that, Mainstream. Others like myself can flip through a radio and like just about anything that is on no matter who it is, or how many novelty instruments they can play. For the record, I like watching Jessica Simpson and Kellie Pickler videos too
