what is up with J-star bindings? i saw an ad for them in alliance, they look JUST LIKE hyperlite bindings but with minimal differences (color, base plate).

They're not J-star, that's just the Jobe logo. Jobe is run/owned(correct me if I'm wrong) by Hyperlite, which is why the bindings look the same. The ankle strap is still called the Option2.

Jon - They changed their name; they will now be known as J-Star the artist formally known as Jobe.
