Just don't expect to see a lot of riding this year - there aren't any preliminary heats, just the finals. I'm not sure if they are doing best of two runs or something different but I do know that it's finals-only this year and will be televised live.

"12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.: Wakeboard men's finals "

Not sure how the Stadium is but that makes a lot of sense putting the finals at the most windy time of the day

I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to the X-Games or the Canyon Lake Tournament.

hmmm....X-Games or Canyon Lake, X-Games or Canyon Lake.

I hate these decisions.

I would go to the Canyon Lake event. Wakeboarding getting screwed by the X-games this year. If you look at the schdule they have every BMX, Skateboarding, and MX for 3 or 4 days while wakeboarding just has a Day last time it was 2 days

Looks like Mr. and Mrs. Gramps are getting out of the rocking chair and headed North to check it out, plus I want to check out the place where I lived until I was 6.

I know this is off topic but did you catch the freestyle MX yesterday..?? That dude's body varial was freakin crazy. I can't even comprehend the balls you have to have to throw that..
I'm scared throwing a damn backroll.

Old    tutman            08-06-2004, 8:53 AM Reply
That was crazy! Plus the fact that the only 2 other times he tried it (in the foam pool) he broke bones, then has the bawlz to try it in a comp.

Gramps - can I take Blabel's spot?

Yea, but that is the only event that he is competing in. All the other riders went conservative so they could ride in other events later on. He worked all year on that one trick for that one event!

That body variable was crazy, and he definitely deserved the win. But, what was up with the 2nd and 3rd place. I totally disagree with the judges on that one.
Nate Adams, throws two big 360/flips, and got second. When Patrana throws a one handed 360/flip and a seat grab, indian air backflip and gets 3rd.
I know it was best trick, and it was not a combined score. But, either one of Patrana's jumps was more creative and more technical then Nate Adams. Hell, they basically did the same trick except Pastrana took a hand off. Then Pastrana pulls a backflip variation that no one has seen before! I guess Nate's might have been bigger, but I still disagree.
But, it doesnt matter because he is going to go off in the freestyle event. If he pulls this double backflip that is the rumor going around, they cannot deny him.
