dang kirk, We have what's called Eskimo IceCapades here in Knoxville, TN. Weather was 30 degrees and cloudy. I don't think it compared to what you guys did, that looks painful.

now that's extreme
I would never want to wakeboard that bad

they need to make dry suit boots for wakeboarding. It looked like your feet were the only part of the body exposed.
did anyone loose any toes?

late/jake

No lost toes, but lots of lost feeling in body parts. My hair was frozen solid. I had to thaw it out in the hot tub.
Some of the guys were riding without gloves....

With dry suits and gloves, it really isnt that bad. Looks a lot colder than it actually was. A couple days after this the temp went down to -12 degrees. Now that would have been cold...

i thought that looked like the tri-cities. the river temp for that area probably doesn't change much it seems, so it probably wasn't that bad.

You people are crazy! You'd never catch this water-snob in that weather. But I'd never have to that being a California girl and all... hehe! Keep it up though, the pics are fun to look at!

Isn't the water a little bumpy out there!
Old     (kirk)      Join Date: May 2003       05-10-2004, 1:07 PM Reply
This was an event that was planned to go on regardless of the weather. In years past it's been 50 degrees and sunshine, rain and 40 degrees. This was the first year the weather has been that brutal.
You know it's bad when the trucks have to chain up yo pull the boats out...

Holy cow.Think of the shrinkage...or rather, try not to think of it.
