Got up first try from a water start and was able to cross both wakes, do a small 1 wake jump and a surface 180, but I had a hard time jumping with the board. I was so used to ollies on the wakeboard, but when I tried the same on the skate I ended up jumping up off the board while the board stayed on the water.

What kind of techniques or things should I practice to get a hang of jumping with the skate?

thanks.

Matt,
This is something we had at our shop so we didnt crash into everything, it really helps with getting the right pop like you need with wake and regular skating. They're called "soft trucks", all you need is a deck...
