how 'bout a "Go Wake Day"

there's a national go skate day, why not a go wake day, or if that sounds lame to you, how 'bout go ride day? good enough reason to take a day off of work, right? we can all choose a date and keep that date every year. for example, let's say we pick august 3rd (no holidays in august). it falls on a monday this year, tuesday next year, etc.

cool? lame? tell me what you think. i won't be offended.

i think it would be fun to have it but i think i would just go and hang at the lake, because if it has a good turn out, the water wouldnt even be worth riding, i'll ride the day after haha, but would still be fun to go and hang and meet new people

not sure if april or june are do-able since kids are still in school. we wouldn't want to encourage ditching school...school comes first.

It would need some sort of hook to make it happen. A website simply declaring that this is "Go wake day" wouldn't make me any more or less likely to ride. A nice hook would be to get All the local dealers to have demos, clinics with their local pros, or tourney on the local lakes on said day. I think regionally this could be pulled off without major heroics, but the force would have to be very strong to make it happen nationally.

Joe, I've tried that with my friends one year. It was great while it lasted. By the time the 2nd year came around, people where dropping like flies. What you're talking about is a grand scale nation wide? Sounds good to me.

yes, nationwide. i don't think it would be too hard to convince the wakeboard industry to get involved. it could only lead to sales, right?

The 8/12 Ronix day is their annual filming day on Radar Lake. The Ronix event could springboard to something like a 'go ride day', but from what I can tell, not a lot happens around that date except for those directly connected to the company.

i'd be down for 8/12. my birfday is 8/11 so thats two days in a row off for me..

it would be sick to have like a 2 day sale all across the country at proshops and then on the 12 everyone head on out to the lakes, rivers, ponds, whathaveyou...

and one could argue that everyday is go skate day. "lol"

"go wake day" could be modeled after the orginators of go skate day.

I've always tried to pick the first day of summer as something special, longest daylight of the year. There's something special about getting off the lake at 23:00 h.
