Would the manual for a marine vs. auto engine be the same as far as the front cover? Meaning removing the front timing cover and bolt torque specs and what not? Thanks Jeff

should be the same. what does it say? my SBF manual doesn't list a torque spec for the timing cover, however.

I didn't see it in there either. I just picked up a Hanes sbf rebuild manual from Autozone. I got the timing cover off now I am playing heck getting 2 broken bolts out from the impeller that broke off at the block. Any tips

I pulled the entire front of my motor off. Timing chain exposed. I had broken an impeller bracket bolt off a long time ago. Well then I had stringers replaced. Fast fwd a couple yrs and now I am finally getting around to fixing the bolt.So it is in my garage and I need to remove the broken bolt and another bolt I broke while taking apart the motor.

gotcha. You need someone to drill it out and retap (rethread) the hole for use with a larger bolt. Find a machine shop.

YEa if you are really good with a drill use a punch and punch small mark in the center of the broken bolt. They use a small drill bit and drill a hole. then a bigger and bigger and bigger bit untill you are almost at the threads then there should just be a shell of the bolt left and use a small screwdriver and bent it and pull it out. I wouldnt worry about torqueing the chain cover. Just tighten it snug
