Hey all,

For the past 3 years I've been riding an '01-'02 (?) Byerly 142 that came with the boat I bought (an '82 Ski Nautique). I'm looking for a new setup this year. I called one local shop, and they want $25/day or $40/weekend to demo a board. I've never demo'd a board before, does that sound about right? There's 4-5 boards I'm interested in, but shelling out $200 for demos sounds a bit crazy. I'm wanting to try an Absolute, Transcend, Watson, PS3, and maybe a Natural. Any opinions on demo-ing? Are any of those boards similar enough so I could just demo one or the other?

Thanks!
J

If you demo a board, usually the cost of the demo is recovered if you buy a board from them, ie you spend 200 demo-ing boards from them and then buy one, you should have a 200 CREDIT

Ok, that sounds better. Thanks, I'll check into that.

yeah, $200 sounds like its a demo program where you may get like 6 deoms or something and the cost of the demos goes towards the board. Other wise I have paid like 25 bucks to demo a board, or basically rent it for like 3 days.

Oh yeah, if its a 2002 byerly are you looking to sell it?

I'll most likely sell it once I get my new setup, but haven't completely decided yet. I might not want EVERYBODY riding the new fancy gear so I may keep it as a backup. It's the one with the girl in the bikini (barely :-) on top. I'll double check the year and maybe post a pic of it. It has "Badass" bindings, they have skulls all over them. One of the pull-holes in the left binding ripped through, and the board has a minor chip that I'll show in the pic.
