Well with all the new tow rig threads thought I would share a couple pics of our new ride.We traded in our 08 GMC sierra 4x4 for a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie 4x4 with the new high output Cummings turbo diesel.I never understood all the diesel hype but now that I have one I get it.I cant ever imagine going back to a gasser the dodge tows the boat without breaking a sweat and as an added bonus it does not require exhaust fluid every 5000 miles like the powerstroke and the duramax.Here are a couple pics and one of the old ride for comparison

I have heard nothing but good things about the Cummins engine..... However Im a Duramax for life... Nice purchase for sure!

Harold- Nice looking rig sir. Congrats and welcome to the fam. I'm sure you know, but modding diesels is way cheaper and your gains are unreal!! Programmer, intake and exhaust and you've got a beast on your hands! That Cummins will not disappoint.

However +1 for the Duramax crew!

Welcome to the cummins family. I put some 33-1/2" nitto terra Trappists on mine and love every bit of them. They are quiet on the road and don't wear down while towing. More of an aggressive street tire than they are an all terrain but nonetheless a good buy. Do you plan on taking off the dpf or leaving it on? Ive got 10k left on my warranty before I yank it but it also depends on your areas emissions testing. Anyways sweet ride I love the front center console option they've got now. Makes me wanna upgrade haha.

Congrats! I think that new Dodge is the best looking truck out there now and I'm not a Dodge fan at all! They really got the styling right with that one! Looks great!!! Enjoy your new power!

Try 10-12k miles and its a $10-$15 fill up. I'd be very surprised to not see Urea in the near future for Cummins.

Hate I test drove all the models Ford, Dodge and GMC .The ford dealer said That the F-350 needed the Exhaust Urea every 7500 miles and the Denali 3500 needed the Urea every 5000 miles.The exhaust fluid is not what made us choose the dodge.We did not go with the ford because the new in house powerstroke is not street proven yet and the wife hated all the plastic on the interior but I will admit I liked the trucks new body styling..We did not go with another GMC because the dealers were not willing to move much on price and because I think a new body styling is just around the corner and I did not want to be stuck with the old body styling.All three were very nice trucks we just felt the dodge was the nicest with the best interior of the three.Also now that dodge added the new high output Cummings with 350 HP and 800 foot pounds of torque all three are on a even playing field as far as power goes.Bottom line came down to bang for the buck who would sell the most options for the least amount of cash and Dodge came out on top

130K+ miles on my 5.9 and going strong. replaced serpentine belt at 120k, water pump at 80k, do all maintenance myself. drilled and tapped drain holes for diff covers to make gear oil changes simple... thats all. Love my cummins.

Nice looking truck, hope yours is as problem free as mine.

Nice truck.

We just bought a left over brand new 2010 2500 and it is an amazing truck.

We traded in a 24valve cummins with 151k that still ran great.

We kept an old 12 valve 94 that has 192,000 miles of ranching abuse that has been amazing.

Cummins for life.

Your story sounds familiar. I went through the same process this spring on my 2011 2500. I've been a lifetime Chevy guy, but the Dodges set up was the best. Cab space was HUGE compared to the Ford and Chevy.

This is my first diesel....WOW this thing pulls. I REALLY don't even notice my V237 behind it. It doesn't even sweat with my 28' snowmobile trailer or my 29' travel trailer behind it.

BTW: The additive will not make it on a Dodge until 2013.

The truck tells you when it needs to be filled and based on customer testomony and testing its been in that 10-12 range. Ford of course recommends top off at each oil change which is 7500 miles for normal driving and 5000 for heavy usage.

We got an 09 coming from a tired 97 f150. I plan on having this at least 20 years, but won't ever go back to gas. I got mine with 4.10s but wish I would have got 3.73s. No need for those gears to compensate for the 35s like I thought I would. Tows like a beast though, gets about 11mpg towing, 12 - 14 in town unloaded and 15-16 at 70 on the free way.

Did this just become a show your Dodge off thread!!

H20King mine is all stock but I removed the foam/plastic insert out of the air filter plenum for more flow. Sounds better too.....

What's the diff with the high output designation? Mine is a 6.7 stock with I think 350hp and 650 torque....

Scot the high output designation is new for mid year 2011 dodge trucks it bumps the power from 350 HP and 650 foot pounds to 350 HP and 800 foot pounds of torque
