When you leave the lake do you dry your boat with a chamois, wash with some type of cleaner, or do nothing?

wellllllllllllllll when i had my nautique and only ran it i n fresh water, I admit it made it too easy to be lazy and just go out and after just stick it in the driveway and call it a day but with my new saltwater boat I spend at least a half hour (usually have at least one person helping) to an hour washing with soap and water, spraying it down with salt away, and a day or two later hitting it with boat bling hot sauce to get that just rolled out of the showroom shine.

babes boat bright man. I only wax once or twice a year but I wipe down evertime with babes. keeps the wax on unlike vinegar or ducky which tends to take the wax away.

living in australia pretty much all our riding is in salt water so yeah we have to spend at least an hour (or aprox 4 beer) washing the bastard down, flushing the engine, cleaning the trailer etc.

I like Babes, it works well and smells good. I have a little bit better luck with the Hot Sauce. Makes her shine a bit better.

In a 16-ounce spray bottle - 2oz Turtle Wax Zip Wax, fill the rest up with vinegar. Keeps the wax up, just enough soap to clean off the scum, no water spots. Very cheap - less than $.25 per bottle.

Do not get into the eyes!

Wax as you dry. Gets all the spots off, leaves a waxy layer and smells just like it tastes, delicious!!

One cat wiping with a towel inside followed by babes seat cleaner and the same on the outside followed by boat brite and a microfiber. Every time out and she stays flossy all summer long.

just wipe off the water and the spots go with it--our h2o is not too nasty--no cleaners regularly

Lately Griot's "Spray On Wax" or the old stand-by Babe's. They work about the same but the Griot's definitely has more wax in it.

The Griot's is $13. for a 35 oz. spray bottle or $35. for a gallon jug.

We wipe the boat down with microfiber towels every time we get back to the marina, and usually if we anchor too just to keep it looking nice.

Since I keep the boat on the water all summer usually once or twice a week I do a full wipe down with white vinegar to get rid of water spots, and we give it a good waxing once a month or so...

Mequiar's Mirror Glaze The Professional Final Inspection 34

I dry the boat and then spray this stuff on. It takes the water spots, bugs, bird droppings, tree sap mist, road scum and puts a high gloss shine all in one shot. It seems to help keep up the shine throughout the season.

Safe for clear coats. I have done the vinegar water thing and really wasn't happy with that in the long run. Not good for the metal on the boat.

This is what is looks like.

wipe it down with a vinegar / water spray on/wipe off. It takes a few minutes, costs a couple bucks for the whole summer.

I try to do a real cleaning and either a wax or spray on wipe off once or twice a year, but don't always get around to it.
