Need slalom ski for my dad. He is 6'3" under 200 pounds. Need used ski or new one for good price. Prefer just one boot.

he hasnt skied in a few years but he is a pretty agressive skier. out of 10 he would be a 7 on level.

TTT.

I also am looking for a ski for my Dad. He's probably a 6/10 skier (hasn't skied in a while though), 6' 200lbs w/ size 10 foot. Couldn't get him up on a board last year so he wants me to find him a ski. Any advice, used skis, forums to look at, etc. would be appreciated. I can't seem to find any ski forums with good activity/information.

what exactly is a 7/10 skier? I would consider myself a 7/10 skier and can get into 35' off. I think you need to break it down a little more to get a good ski recommendation.

Nick, I guess I shouldn't have speculated on skill, I honestly have no idea. I haven't seen him ski in probably 15yrs and don't think he was all that good even when he did ski. Lets just say I'm looking for a relativly cheap, but decent, slalom ski for a recreational skier....not running courses, just skiing for fun. Hoping someone has an outdated setup that was good for its day....or something along those lines.

I have no clue when it comes to skis as I was never really into it, and haven't even put one on in over a decade, which is why I was looking for a discussion board to start some research.

Ryan, is he running the course? I ski with two guys who are good open water skiiers / part time course skiiers and this is what they ride.

One of em is a bigger guy and he rides an HO Triumph and he really likes it. It's a wider ski so it works well for just freeride. But he can also run 15 off at around 30-32 on it.

The other who is more about your dads size rides a Connelly F1 Concept. Same story as the HO Triumph but is narrower.

I'd check out http://www.ski-it-again.com. They usually have pretty good deals.

Hey, Thanks for the link t-rev!! Thats exactly the kind of info I was looking for. No courses, it will be solely freeride, but he likes to push it pretty hard too.

Anyway, thanks again....that site will be a big help.

Dad skis:

Look at the shaped skis. I sell Jobe, so the model is the Raven. HO, I don't carry, has the Triumph series. It is wider than normal skis - easier to get up on and still performs great in the course. At slower speeds, go big - 68,69,70 inches long.

rider@boarditup.com for specic questions - I compete on wakeboard and slalom.
